@saffie92
A very rough storyboard for the first 1 minute 35 seconds of the song Schadenfreude, which myself and Saf worked on both in the class together and individually at home which you may notice some deviations with some frame designs in later posts.
the end part looks great Jade, I understand them clear there :)
smoothing face test
Hair
i started with a cube with rectangle shape and extrude them around the head for the fringe and extrude more to make the hair come down at the front.

belts
<-- control the tube edges, height and thickness.
i used extrude and tube shape to create the belts for the arms top and boots
Why r u guys following this blog? XD
all u'll see pointless screenshots
feet and legs
used cube to create the feet and extrude to make the letter 'L' shape
start shapen them up to make it look like she wearing boots.
then i insert loop tool and extrude for the heels.
I also added loop for the legs to shapen them up more, honestly i find it hard to do leg anatomy in maya.
WIP (work in progress)
hood
I started to create Litria's hood by traceing the shapeing using the model sheet.
then i start hollowing the hood by putting loop tool and moving the vertex edges in.
I started to use later for the objects because it will make it easier for me to model each objects.
start over
I decide to redo it again with the upper body. starting from the cube and half it and mirrored again to have even shape.
when I put loop tool in for the arm, I changed the location of the joint (highlight in red) from the shoulders because I think the model sheet is out of proportion. (chest sticking out too much)
practise
working on the head fine until..
i come across this error here. some sort of twist going on.
i was trying to extrude the side of the upper object to create the arms..
...then suddenly that came out wrong haha. I see more twist going on in there again.
but i say its a good practise, i know this isn't going to be perfect at the begining but wroth a try. I also realised my model sheet is out of proportion, because her chest seems to push out a lot, so I will try find a way to fix that when I modelling.
(edit this later..)
View -> select camera - Atribute editor - edit alpha
I made the image transparent because it is hard for me to model with all that detail on the image.
i took screenshot of these to remember how i can import and cube from Maya to Mudbox
once i imported the image I to started to build up on the upper body from a cube.
this is first time using maya properly, I not use to the sort cut keys and moving camera around because it was difficult. and the setting confuse me so i need more practise...
I started off importing the model images into Photoshop to crop and shade the background so i can import them into Maya to start building.
i believe colour the back ground image grey because to make the background invisible in maya since the background is dark colours, makes it easier to see only the shape of the character
