Thanks to a discussion @ceiling-karasu and I had the other day, I’ve come to the realization that this tends to be my role here.

I’ve been comparing Google translate images, DeepL (desktop can’t do pictures without paying money so I take screenshots from the Google doc on my phone), an image to text extractor (limited free images a day BUT there are multiple around) where I then put the text through DeepL to get a much better translation, a Korean letter keyboard, and beetle themself sometimes to get a proper translation for the translation project.

Because I always go overboard with research when I do things like this, I guess.

Basically, in this scene he’s lamenting that the wasps almost stole the ginseng they planted, so he’s setting up sentries in the flower fields starting that night.

I’d show you, but the translation I’ve been doing doesn’t work on mobile at the moment. I’ll have to fix that later someone, but I refuse to start over from scratch again, lol.

I just don’t have the time to be paying too much attention due to assignments. And when I can afford to, I simply just forget 😫.

Ah the ginseng plant is that one plant needed for the elixir? Also, that’s funny. I wonder what the wasps were thinking if they found out how easily accessible it was to get the plant.

I need to re-read the comic later to understand better. Unfortunately, I have two exams next week so I need to prioritize that 😭.

Oh, I actually changed it from ‘Bee Captain’ to ‘Commander Boongboongi’ recently. Might have been Friday, could have been yesterday. Whenever I made that complaint begging my laptop to actually work and at least let me change the name. I first translated it as Boongboongi earlier, but I thought it was a mistranslation until later and didn’t include it until other people started saying his name.

There’s actually a bit I need to change in the first document, including the font. Some of the older text boxes are blurry and I need to fix that as well.

It was actually extremely hard to get to ginseng valley, and none of the wasps who went returned alive. Mighty Wing has to get help from the locals, and even then had trouble. The wasp commander and black wasp scout are gobsmacked when they find out that the honeybees simply planted the ginseng instead of hiding it.

The Black Wasp Scout is apparently very amused by the easy assignment to steal the ginseng afterwards. Either that, or terrified because he thinks Mighty Wing will find out, and he’s scared of him.

Whatever emotion this is when given the order to steal the ginseng from the bees.

Okay, I can excuse a lot of handwaving from these series, but…

Bees and wasps…don’t…have bones. They have exoskeletons. So how exactly are they supposed to have arthritis…?

After the announcement in North Korea that they were working on new episodes of Squirrel and Hedgehog, they’ve been airing an episode a day for the last 32 days.

If there is a new episode, it will probably happen tomorrow or Monday, and I am NOT ready for this.

I see a lot of sonic artists accidentally posting on the SaH tag, which makes me think a crossover between them is such an underrated idea

Yeah there is ‘squirrel’ in the tags, and there is ‘hedgehog’ in the tags, so tumblr puts them together. Sometimes annoying but there can be good art. I like Mighty and Ray anyway.

I would love to know the difference between why most of Mobius is clothing optional a lot, while everyone in that one region wears clothes (except for small birds, and ducks in the earlier episodes).

I’ve thought a few times that Eggman/Robotnik could be easily convinced to attack Flower Hill, although I wonder what his relationship with Huinjogjebi would be considering he also makes killer robots. Would he see Huinjogjebi as a rival to be destroyed, or start a great friendship like he did with Dr. Wiley?

I feel like Eggman/Robotnik would want a friendship, but would be too intense in his methods for the weasels. Huinjogjebi seems like the type of want to finish off an opponent quickly, while the former wants to keep them alive, sometimes as batteries.

Guess the animals of Flower Hill are just more modest, they seem to be a bit traditional in values.

I feel like if the Flower Hill residents would be floored by the idea that a fox and hedgehog could be friends, much less see each other as brothers. Also maybe the weasels would (very unsuccessfully) try to feed Tails anti hedgehog propaganda so they could recruit him. I mean, he's a prodigy who fixed a plane at like, eight. Imagine how useful he could be for weapons.

Yeah, they do seen to have traditional values. Their clothing can be more modern at times though.

Given that Flower Hill is aware of the international community, I kind of think that it could be normal for other countries. They might see Tails as a kid and think that it is ok. They do seem to hold a 'distrust everyone but treat them nicely and with respect unless they try something against us' attitude, so there would not be any real animosity towards Tails. The commanders do have a 'children are more innocent but can be manipulated into making mistakes' mindset, so they would just watch him closely since he can make all the weapons.

Flower Hill is pretty a insular area, so they might be suspicious of Sonic as well since he is an outsider.

So Sonic and Tails visiting would be Flower Hill less worrying over a fox child and a hedgehog teenager being friends, and more them being upset about outsiders being allowed to wander around, but still being polite to their faces about it.

The weasels could probably try to kidnap Tails, though, like they did with the disguise artist and Dr. Dudeoji. Then again, Tails' plane is pretty much a standard plane with modifications (barring the Sonic X transforming Tornado), so the weasels might think he is smart, but not worth kidnapping him over. Some versions of the Tornado can do strange things, but hovering and leaving strange trails does not really seem out of place in the SaH universe. They might grab him if one of his inventions could be used to help attack Flower Hill, but it is not as if Tails would really have something like that handy.

Dr. Huinjogjebi could probably make some of the same stuff Tails could if he tried, so kidnapping Tails isn't really worth it unless they need leverage over Sonic for some reason.

Now, I could more easily see an assassination plot involving the one like with Assistant Jogjebi and Field Mouse Number 5.

I have never seen any Sonic cartoons or played any Sonic games. My knowledge of the blue speedster comes purely from pop culture osmosis. So correct me if I’m wrong. But…

I think the powers that Tails and Sonic have might raise more questions.

Tails can fly, right? Like he can whip his tails in a helicopter motion and hover in the air? I don’t think that’s a normal thing for foxes to do in SAH. So I think that even if Huinjogjebi was interested in capturing Tails, he’d fail to account for that and be a bit stupefied at how the fox can fly.

Sonic is in a similar boat. Even I know that he’s supposed to be the fastest thing alive. I don’t know if either nation would have the ability to catch up with him if he started run. Dude can break the sound barrier. On land. Under his own power.

If either of them were captured, I think they’d be more liable to be put in a lab. To be studied and possibly dissected. I don’t think it would work. I just think that’s what would happen.

Fem!Geumsaegi I chose to make designs based on time when Geum appeared in casual outfits.

Amazing art as always! Although…

It isn’t often I say this with genderbends, but a fem!Geumsaegi might change the plot a little bit, for one very specific reason; the Weasel Army has a bit of a gender divide from what we can see. Female mice have typically been relegated to support roles. Things like radio operators, waitresses, nurses…

This isn’t to say that fem!Geumsaegi couldn’t have ended up as Special Aide, she just would have had to take a different route to get there.

For starters, she wouldn’t have been able to simply show up to “rescue” a weasel officer and claim she was with Operation: Mole before she got separated. Remember, there’s a gender divide, so it’s unlikely that there would have been any female operatives on the ground. What seems more likely is for her to pull off a wounded gazelle gambit of some kind. Perhaps claim she was captured by Flower Hill and held as a POW, only for the big strong mouse/weasel/crow soldier to come along and “rescue” her. She might play the part of a harmless and grateful mouse maiden in order to sneak in through the back door.

It also seems unlikely she would have been assigned to the role of Guard Commander, but she may well have been assigned as part of Jogjebi’s support staff. Possibly as a radio operator, or a member of his press release team, or even an administrative assistant. The latter might have naturally seen her be promoted to the ranks of Special Aide, since that’s basically an administrative assistant and would probably have been the logical Big Promotion.

As a gift I’ve made an Aekku and Mul, my first actual squirrel and hedgehog drawing actually haha! Hopefully I can make more in the future, for a first attempt I think it’s pretty good!
