She nodded and shifted to sit beside him, shoulder touching his. Magic was likely the only route that could help him ease the pain of what he’d endured, but magic wasn’t something she wanted to mess with. She also couldn’t imagine that Nick would be comfortable with such a suggestion.

Without a word she let her head fall to his shoulder, simply trying to be there for him. She considered the options for a moment longer before finally speaking her mind. “There might be a few options… magic for starters…”

❝Magic?❞ A raised eyebrow as Nick turns to face Melody. She’d been kind to him so far, and he’s grateful to her for it. Very few others can even stand to LOOK at him, only able to see Lucifer when they do.

He frowns. Nick has limited experience with magic; most that he’d dealt with are rituals Lucifer completed, but... ❝How? How would that help?❞

Nick shuddered; it was like the weight of the world lay on his shoulders, every time he closed his eyes. It only got worse then. Flashes of memory over what had transpired, over the months--years?--with the devil inside of him.

❝I don’t think anyone can, Melody.❞ His voice was soft, a murmur under his breath and raspy, like he hadn’t had anything to drink in far too long. ❝Not after everything...❞
