I was struck yesterday by the incredible elegance of Log Date 7 15 2.

In this show, which is dedicated to breaking new ground in representation of homosexuality, we explore the friction between literal lesbians, in Garnet, and an allegorical normy in Peridot. But to Peridot, Garnet's transgression is not homosexuality, but hetero-fusion in a society where only homo-fusion is permitted. Like a magician, Sugar has redirected our attention from the real-world controversy in front of our eyes to a mirrored allegorical one.

Enter Camp Pining Hearts.

This Canadian teen romance drama, which being old, is guaranteed to feature only heterosexual pairings, ignites the imagination of the homonormative alien. Who becomes frustrated by Earth-culture's inexplicable refusal to acknowledge the chemistry between Percy and Piere. She's on our side of the mirror now and she doesn't like it.

Then Garnet says, "I'm Percy & Piere"

And suddenly Peridot can see it, and so can the audience. We're back on her side of the mirror but we can now see the mirror for what it is...

REASONS WHY RAMLETHAL VALENTINE IS THE CLOSEST TO BEING SOL BADGUY'S DAUGHTER, ACTUALLY

Now, I know, I know, Dizzy exists and she's very much Sol's actual blood daughter. But hear me out.

Ram is quiet and doesn't ask too many questions, much like him. They prefer to let their actions do the talking.

Ram loves burgers from Danny Missiles, which Sol canonically likes himself.

They're both kind of standoffish but mean well.

Dizzy's most similar to Aria in both personality and looks, whilst Elphelt resembles a combination of Sol and Aria, and Ram is much more similar to Frederick.

They're both tan/darker skinned (don't crucify me for the terminology, I'm a dark skinned person myself, thank you).

They're both top-heavy (Ram's cloak makes her look like a rectangle sometimes).

They both have huge swords that explode and shoot.

They have the same eyes. Dizzy's and Elphelt's more resemble Aria's.

They both do the hat covering eyes thing (I know Sol's is a headband but you know what I mean).

They're both gorillas.

In short, she's essentially what a daughter with his traits would look and act like. This is truly Daisuke's vision.

not my tweet or my fic (and there’s a good chance of this comment being a bot) but yeah, don’t do this. sure, some writers wouldn’t mind having fanfics (or direct continuation) of their fanfics written by someone else. some may even be thrilled and happy. but the fandom etiquette is that if you want to write a fanfic or a continuation of someone’s fanfic, YOU POLITELY ASK THE WRITER FOR THEIR PERMISSION. not their readers.

also 5 months isn’t long at all. 5 months is 5 minutes when it comes to fanfics. I’ve waited years for my favorite fics to get updated (one of my favorite fanfics was updated by the author after 13 years) and I’ve never said anything to them about “it’s been ___ years, I don’t think it will get updated anymore”. because another fandom / fanfic etiquette is that fanfic writers write for free in their free time, they don’t owe you anything. maybe they will update one day. maybe they won’t. if you want your favorite fic to get updated, you comment something like “this is good!! I’m excited for what happens next” and maybe your positive comment will motivate the author to update. but you don’t say “it’s been ___ months or years”. fanfics writers write for themselves and their own enjoyment. they’re just kind enough to let you read their works for free. stop being rude and entitled to fanfic writers.
