I have a friend who has to call me friendĀ
Every time we talk
To remind me
That weāll never be
More than that
Like the stories weāve shared
And burdens Iāve carried
Of His
His weights
His crosses
Could ever let me
Love that
Sweet handsome boy
In any other way
Remind me again
Friend
Mate
Buddy
Iāll still love you all the same
As aĀ
Friend
Mate
Buddy
Nothing more
But Ill carry your baggage
Anyway
this made me cry really hard
Damn the faces of those left behind thoā¦got me catching feelings
Fr⦠this shit⦠damn
I understand that this exercise was to show peopleās privilege but I couldnāt help but think about the feelings of those at the back. What is this from?
I understand the message and itās a necessary one to learn. I wouldnāt have done that to them tho. Idk if everyone in the back is comfortable being used as an example and having personal details of their life and family lives exposed to these strangers.
The thing that ruins me the most right now is that I had this big dream for so long. Like since I was 12 and started going to shows I have wanted to be a music journalist slash work in the music industry.
and I used so many years and spent so much time writing for any website i could, doing any internship i could do. I went to uni and studied journalism but only did music journalism stuff outside because that is all i could see myself doing.
and now im 23, almost 2 years out of uni, and im still working two casual jobs not knowing where Im going in life.
This year I have had to realise and accept that the dream Ive had for ten years will probably never be anything more than a dream. But the problem is I have nothing else. I dont know where to go or what to do. Im not really good at anything.
Where do I go next? I know I absolutely cannot stay in retail forever, it makes me too unhappy and it doesnt fulfil me.
I was the one with all the potential, the one with the big life ahead of her that would become whatever she wanted to be. But now Im an adult and im looking like more of a failure than anything else.
I didnt understand why my brother was so heartbroken the year he turned 18 when he didnāt get picked up in the draft. When he didnt want to do anything else because football was all he knew and football was all he wanted. I didnt understand why he didnt find something else at the same time. Just in case. Just as a back up.Ā
All the while I was doing exactly the same thing.
Sometimes this post randomly picks up traction again, and I just want to say that im so glad that this Gloria two years ago didnt give up because now Im literally living my dream and I havent been happier <3
The whole Pepsi commercial thing reminded me that people always mis-remember the famous flower in the gun barrel photo as being a young woman. It wasnāt. The photo, taken by Bernie Boston, is of George Edgerly Harris III better known by his stage name Hibiscus. He was a member of the San Francisco based radical gay liberation theater troupe the Cockettes. He died of AIDS in 1982 at the time AIDS was still referred to by the name GRID which stood for Gay Related Immuno-Deficiency. The photo was taken at a protest at the Pentagon.Ā
I had no idea who he was, thank you.

those who escape hell, however, never talk about it & nothing much bothers them after that.

When we say that the United States is joining Syria and Nicaragua by not participating in the Paris agreement, I think itās not fair to leave it at that, because neither of them refused to sign for reasons anything like the selfish ones of the United States.
Syria was under sanctions making it complicated to even attend, and on top of that were embroiled in intense civil warfare and not in a great position to make a commitment like that. They didn'tā disagree with it, but were never involved with the deal in the first place.
Nicaragua actually felt that the Paris agreement was not strict enough, arguing that they didnāt want to be complicit in a voluntary effort that didnāt properly allocate the responsibility to large countries for being the ones who poisoned the environment in the first place, nor impose a punishment on anyone failing to comply with the standards. Nicaragua is one of the countries thatās most affected by climate change but least responsible, and they felt that wasnāt fairly reflected in the accord.
The United States is the ONLY country that has rejected the Paris accord because of the belief that our environment is less important than our profit. Even oppressive regimes and the poorest nations in the world are smarter than that, or at least know when to keep their mouths shut and play along. The USA is not really in the league of Syria or Nicaragua, but alone in the refusal to cooperate out of pure greed.
I checked and itās true:Ā https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2017/05/31/why-nicaragua-and-syria-didnt-join-the-paris-climate-accord/?utm_term=.a36d3a0d88e7
Apparently Nicaragua is closing in on being 80%+ reliant on renewable energies which is one of the most impressive amongst nations, I believe I read somewhere.

Y'all he literally just dropped his pants on stage to make Dave, who he pulled up from the crowd, feel less nervous. Yet again I find myself asking the age-old questionā¦.
WHEN WILL YOUR FAVE EVER?
Joe Biden has a message for fraternity guys
If you donāt stop your brother from raping a girl, you are an accompliceĀ
