"Your majesty, the invaders have breached the castle walls — you must flee!" Raoul tried to warn her. He was only a mere private in the royal forces, but he knew that the kingdom's current state could not possibly be safe for her.

Ariel gasped upon hearing the yells of the navy ship, and immediately dove back under the water into the safety of her home. But just as she floated in the safety of the waters, of her father’s kingdom, her curiosity piqued. What was the harm in seeing the humans? It’s not like he’d be able to see her, right? Not if she was careful. Smiling excitedly, Ariel darted up to the surface, but this time, coming up behind a boulder so she could an eyeful of whatever strange, wonderful things the humans were doing.
Raoul loved everything about being in the navy. He soon discovered that everything about the sea had enchanted him. The splashing waves, the salty sea air, its never ending vastness...he was in love. He was rather new to it and originally did not want to join the forces. His elder brother convinced him that it would give him good character. The past four generations of Chagnys had been naval officers. His elder brother Philippe was a Midshipman, his father a Corvette Captain like his own father, and his great grandfather was an Admiral.
Raoul leaned over the ship to take in a breath of fresh air. It was like heaven after spending the entire night sleeping in a cramped cabin among men who snored louder than ever. Raoul had never stayed among so many men, back home he had lived with his two sisters and his aunt. He had a very feminine upbringing, so this was all very new.
He looked out at the open water. Mist sprayed at his face and it was hard to keep his eyes open. For a moment he could have sworn he saw the head of a young woman pop out of the water. He became very concerned.
"Hello?!" he called out, but no one answered him. He leaned over the edge a bit more, "Hello there?!"
Raoul's curiosity got the best of him. He ended up leaning over to far, where he lost his balance and fell into the waves.
some of you may recall the strange affair of the phantom of the opera; a MYSTERY never fully explained.

Roma || i-have-the-heart-of-a-king
"Everyone loves Rome, in a way or another" she says mischievously. Though she keeps a straight face afterwards, the idea of going near the palace seems like dread to her. If caught, she knew she could get in trouble.Yet at hearing the fact that his brother was a senator…Now that was something interesting. Being ambitious, she had made it her goal to know all about the senators to have them at her side. With most she was good friends, with the rest…"Ah, well the palace is hard to miss. The glorious part of Rome, the senators —depending on their proximity to Caesar— live closer or further away from the palace though you could say that somewhat they are all close to the palace. Do tell me the name of your brother, if he is well known I may know around where he lives" she says, skipping the fact that she knew where all the senators lives.
"Philippe is his name," he tells her, "He's a rather short fellow with a dark head of hair. Surname is Chagny. I know it may sound rather foreign. Our father was born and raised in Gaul while our mother is Roman through and through," he smiles at her, "It would be just amazing if you could help me, miss."
