I’m pretty sure this is a mistake by the label because when you go to the artists individual profiles (Momoiro Clover Z, Yoko Ishida, etc) the EP doesn’t appear but if you use this link you can get to listen to the whole EP (including instrumentals) so my dear sis go and listen right away.

Well, a new Sailor Moon Eternal trailer was revealed and they decided to pay a homage to the traumatic beginnings of this reboot:

Tbh, now compared to the SMC short it doesn’t look that bad but it still look bad. Somebody tell Sailor Moon animators that faces and eyes don’t work like that.

Also, in Makoto Kino’s shot you barely see that because it’s like one second, whereas in the SM Eternal trailer you can see Usagi’s right eye trying to escape her face for 3 good seconds.

I got good & bad news

Good news is that 月色Chainon is finally out officialy and available on every major streaming platform.

Theme Song Revealed

The official Youtube Sailor Moon channel has just uploaded a new short video featuring the theme song for the Eternal Movies performed once again by Momoiro Clover Z.

The clip features a couple of images that confirm the cheap and different style of these films (I think this is the 4th change of animation? lmao).

BTW it looks like we’re getting AGAIN thos HORRIBLE AND UGLY BLACK DEAD BACKGROUNDS for the senshi attacks.

Here’s Venus about to perform her Love and Beauty Shock attack just like in the old anime and damn they kept that uninspired, unoriginal, boring background.

One of the things I didn’t like about the old anime is how we went from flashy, colourful and super cool attacks to boring and blackscreen ones. It looks like they made the background black to add later a flashy and colourful background (as usual) and they completely forgot.

Seriously, at least change that shit.

Seriously, what a downgrade. Who ever thought back in the 90s this was a good idea?. And now eternal is just replicating everything.

idk if you have heard about this but Toei uploaded the first 3 seasons of the 90's anime to YT (Japan only) and after that they said something along the lines of "the story will continue in Sailor Moon Eternal" so Toei is just basically admitting that Crystal was a big af mess and trying to make Eternal a continuation of the first 3 seasons of the 90's anime instead of Crystal even tho it makes no fucking sense

Yes I know! They made them avalaible worlwide (but only for like two weeks lol). That’s some interesting damage control there, that would be a great idea if it weren’t because the animation for the movies is looking stiff, uninspired and cheap. It gets worse when you realize that Sailor Moon is the richest/most famous mahou shojo franchise in the world.

It gets even worse when you compare the transformations.

Left is the 90s anime (almost 30 years now) and right is the transformation for Eternal.

I can’t believe that an animation from almost 30 years ago when the franchise wasn’t as big as it is now is better than the animation we will be getting in the Eternal movies. As a whole, 90s animation still looks better, smoother, more detailed.

So basically TOEI’s at it again, trying to invest the less possible and trying to get as much ¥  as possible out of the franchise.

The ‘leaked’ screenshot has been confirmed to be real and DAMN talk about ugly ass cheap animation once again.

This pretty much confirms that the fact that they decided to go for a movie (sad) instead of a new season is because this is going to be a cheap 75 minutes long episode (or two iirc) which is cheaper that making 10 episodes of 20 minutes.

TOEI keep playing us while getting rich with all that Sailor Moon merchandise.

Our nightmares are confirmed (once again) but we knew it was coming when they revealed the transformation scene and it was cheap and ugly af.

The Sailor Moon Eternal Part 1 Movie will be released on September 11th , 2020! It is confirmed to be the Pegasus arc (continuation of the Sailor Moon Crystal anime) AKA the weakest season AKA no1 cares about Chibiusa being a furry and having the hots for a unicorn.

Sailor Moon Eternal is coming

In 2020 btw.

Yes it’s been a really long time since I last updated this sacred place we got new information about the upcoming Sailor Moon Crystal new season (4th / Dream Arc) called Eternal; just like my feelings for Sailor Moon despite of the atrocious monster Crystal turned out to be.

As you probably know, this won’t be a ~regular~ season but two movies to cover this entire arc. This is already alarming and foreshadowing failure since they weren’t able to do so with the previous seasons with regular episodes let alone two movies (I’m guessing 90 mins each) to condense everything that happens in the manga (which is a lot), but yeah, let’s be positive I guess.

I don’t think this is the best decision (I hope they prove me wrong) but given the backlash since Crystal started and they fact they deny to throw a few yens at this ugly burial revival, who cares?.

Let’s try and enjoy this since it has some positive things like the art.

Yeah, it is pretty noticeable that they burned at the stake everyone involved in the famous first two seasons and stepped up their game and now, at least, they look human. Kazuko Tadano is the character designer for this new season movies thing (she was involved in the first two seasons of the 90s anime). I really like the new designs except for (you knew there’d be a “BUTT”) the fact that they look really childish/precurish.

Yeah don’t get me wrong, I really like this new style (4th different style Crystal has had so far), it’s just the fact I don’t think this new childish/precurish style fits Sailor Moon Crystal when the previous seasons were “aimed at young women and the tone of show was supposed to be more mature and dark”. Also, makes the show pretty inconsistent (animation wise).

We went from girls whom look like they’re in their 20s

or monsters

to preteens.

Again, I like this new concept

But I’m not really sure about the new childish look.

Some people say that they were trying to get a mix of the 90s look and Crystal look but I don’t see it. All I see is Precure/Doremi style (which is not bad I repeat, it just feels inconsistent).

Usagi and Mamoru have done the dididli-doo ffs.

And now she looks like she’s about to ask you for your cellphone to play games and install some malware.

Anyway... YAY!!! for new Sailor Moon!.

I watched the second episode of Clear Card arc yesterday, and I kept asking myself, "Why does this look so good? What's going right for CCS and not SMC?" The only answer I kept going back to was CLAMP, being awesome as a whole and knowing their audience. It's kinda funny how they're known for noodle people, but I haven't seen a single one in Clear Card. Sailor Moon Crystal on the other hand...

This is because CLAMP and everyone involved in the franchise CARE. The Clear Card anime is not just an excuse to put out new merch (like Crystal was) is the continuation and part of the franchise, as valid and as important as the manga itself.

If you’ve been following me long enough you’d know that Sailor Moon is my all time fave anime franchise lifestyle of all time (Cardcaptor Sakura being second).

Just because I’m praising the new Sakura anime (rightfully so) doesn’t mean I like Sailor Moon any less. Yeah, it’s a pity that the perfection of the revival of Cardcaptor Sakura is making Sailor Moon Crystal look even worse but that’s not any of us’ fault, it’s just TOEI’s and their hunger for money that made them don’t give a fuck about damaging the franchise trying to get as much as they could out of it investing the less possible.

So yeah, let’s be happy that at least one show that we love got the treatment it deserved.

I really have to disagree with Crystal S3 being mediocre and only good because of the animation. The characters were at least themselves and developed. Also, as much as I understand how horrible Crystal S1 and S2 were, most anime is suffering. In case you haven't realized this but Japanese work quality is terrible. People fall asleep on trains because they over work and that is the same staff members in anime. Saying SM deserve the best just because we love SM is kinda acting like a spoiled brat

I know that the animation job is really tough but I highly doubt that’s the case for every single animator in Japan / every animation studio. By this logic, it’s just impossible to have good anime and we have to settle for mediocre anime because that’s life c’est la vie SeraBee, sorry but that’s just false and a very poor excuse.

Saying that is basically impossible to have good anime now a days is wrong especially when we are actually getting them. Just to name a few (mahou shojo anime).

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card

Those three franchises delivered great anime and are not as big as the Sailor Moon Franchise. Especially, Magical Girl Raising Project which is a new franchise that has just started with a small studio and the anime couldn’t be better (and miles better than Crystal while at it).

So sorry to say but yes, we can have good quality anime (and even coming from way less powerful franchises like Sailor Moon!). Back in the day someone came up with this lame excuse to justify the poor awful quality of Crystal when it started, claiming that the world will never know of good quality anime again (this reaching is hilarious imo).

I’m not saying that there aren’t animators having it tough but that’s not the reason for Crystal’s ugly outcome. The reason Crystal looks bad is the decision of TOEI not spending money on it / don’t giving a fuck about the quality of the anime or the franchise itself. People whom respect a franchise wouldn’t have let something like Crystal happen, just look at Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card; that’s how you do it.

Also, sorry for wanting my favourite anime to have the best treatment possible… seriously… lmao.

I have no opinion on DBZ, or Saint Seiya but I love the new CCS, SMC *AND* Digimon Tri (in fact most of the active Digimon fandom that isn't bitter as hell loves it, where have you been??? not in the Digimon fandom on tumblr that's for sure) I guess i'm a BAD FAN now for having different opinions from you, huh?? SMC season 3 was wonderful too so what even is your issue anymore???

Why can’t you just be happy for Cardcaptor Sakura and the fact that their revival is literally the perfect revival and the second coming of Jesus Christ-kun.

In this blog house we stan TALENT, therefore we stan Sakura.

I’ve seen bitter blind Sailor Moon Crystal fans (Priders) coming at CCS fans (Fluffy Sakura Buns) just because the anime isn’t awful (actually is the best revival so far) just like Sailor Moon Crystal was.

Sis… It’s been quite a long time now it’s time to accept that Sailor Moon Crystal was a failure in every sense and it should’ve never existed because it only damaged the franchise’s reputation and it almost turned it into a joke. Not even japanese fans like it; not even the big companies, every new collaboration that happens in Japan always features the classic anime designs.

No brand wants to be associated with the mess Crystal was.

And yes, the third season was a whole lot better (animation wise) but it was only because the first two seasons were horrible and it wasn’t really that hard to top that. Also, quality wise the third season had only average quality animation and it was just OK when Sailor Moon deserved Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card levels of basically everything. After all, Sailor Moon is the biggest mahou shojo franchise in the world, it deserved so much better. At least, our good sis Sakura got the treatment she deserved (along with the fans).

With all this I’m not saying you can’t enjoy Sailor Moon Crystal, I know some people genuinely can but you can’t deny that this show was a train wreck and failed in some many levels.

If you can enjoy it then that’s awesome, but most of population in Earth just can’t because so many shameless errors right in front of your face just won’t let you enjoy this show properly.
