Even when it’s an innocent (or even canon) “ship” I feel really bad when I see a fan ask absolutely nothing but shipping questions to a creator. Some creators obviously love that side of fandom themselves, but some pour their heart and soul into crafting a complex hypothetical world full of meaningful events only to have most “fans” ask solely about the same will they/won’t they sideplot and to me that feels like those fans are dismissing or even disrespecting the creator’s imagination and labor. This isn’t me saying “stop having fun” it’s me saying “please be mindful that writers might not want to talk about the same thing over and over and it likely makes some of them feel worse about their work if the majority of it appears consistently overlooked”
