Terrible, wasn't it? Arlo already itching to leave the villa, somewhat forcing the idea of making a day trip out of visiting Athens by means to do so. Ten hours of travel time minimum, no doubt. Perhaps the man should feel rather brilliant instead, it was working after all wasn’t it? Ali simply moments away from returning with a rental car. And despite Arlo’s initial hesitation to join the other in the vehicle, he knew he’d have to at some point - for an extended amount of time, as this journey required. This time, he just wouldn’t be partial to closing his eyes as he sat in the passenger seat. Not again. Exiting the villa, Arlo shut the door gently behind him, not one prone to slamming - not even when angry. As the other fields his vision, Arlo hums in response, his right arm raising to run his fingers through his hair as closes the distance separating him from his best friend. “Yeah, it’s me. Don’t cream your pants, Mallick,” The younger quips, rolling his eyes rather playfully as he nods in the direction of the car. “Wow, you really picked a winner, huh?”
━━ Ali nodded, turning to look at their car. “Volvo—reliable, not much of a head-turner, but does its job,” he deadpanned, opening the door for Arlo and nodding. “Salutations, in you go, mon ami.” Placing his cigarette back to his lips, he went to the drive’'s side and got in. “So do you fancy a,” he began, starting the engine and steering the wheel, “five-hour ferry ride to Athens or a helo?” Glancing at Arlo, Ali grinned, “Either works for me, I’m not picky,” he expressed as he slipped on his sunglasses. The idea of going to Athens was brilliant, it was nothing against Santorini—they both made a vow to come back to Athens, the last time was when Luna toured Europe. “You’ve caught up on everyone yet?”
“what was it? something strange related?” luca wonders, not because he wants to mock him or whatever, but because he’s genuinely curious. “that sounds dangerous. cheers to that,” he laughs and downs the rest of the liquid. setting the small bottle on the table next to them, he laughs at ali’s promise. “shazam! we’ll be flash!” he chuckles, going down the stairs behind him. “what?” he asks as they get to the bottom. “Yes, of course. you can’t come to greece and not try their coffee. also, we definitely need to go to a local gig. that would be pretty cool, yeah?”
━━ “Nope, upcoming personal project related,” Ali tells Luca, watching him consume the entire bottle of energy drink. “It says lime on the label—did it taste like it?” The artificial flavoring was an interest to him, especially when it’s misleading. “Coffee and baklava, Lu. Can never go wrong with that combination, or tea.” Now going to a gig or two sounds like a fantastic idea. “Did you look up any upcoming gigs?” They get to walking, following a small path. “Do you know who decided on Santorini?”
“Both,” he answers, looking back at his friend. “are you for real not admiring this right now? what’s more beautiful than this that’s on your phone?” luca half-jokes. he chuckles at the queen inspired comment and hesitantly takes the energy drink from ali’s hand. “will i become speedy gonzalez after this?” in no time, he gulps down half the liquid, not being sure how it works. he’s never taken one of these in his life, he barely even drinks redbull. “let’s do it.” he smiles and walks over to the stairs, wooden steps not looking safe but when he sets a foot on the first one, luca realizes they’re actually pretty stable. “i was ready to fall down, to be honest.”
━━ ‘I’ve been admiring the view since I got here,” Ali countered with a grin, “excuse me for responding to an urgent text message.” Unlike Luca, however, he didn’t consume any energy drink. He has routine when it came to timezone-shift and dealing with jet lag. “You’ll just be awake and then you’ll crash afterwards,” he tells Luca, “but we’ll be back before you can even say Shazam!” Then, laughing at Luca’s remark, Ali shook his head, “I can push you down if you like?” He joked, climbing down the stairs and giving Luca a salute. ‘You know what we should try while we’re doing this mosey?” He thought out loud. “Greek coffee, yes?”
who: @arlocedwards
where: off to an adventure, baby!
━━ Ali makes a turn, stirs the wheel and set it to park in front of the house. The screen of his mobile phone lights up, sitting on the console of the car-rental. He elected to ignore the notification for the meantime, switching off the engine and stepping out of the vehicle. Plucking the herbal cigarette tucked behind his ear, he placed it between his lips, produced his lighter, and lit up. In time as he turns towards the main front door, Arlo makes his appearance. Ali grinned, taking a short drag and grinning. “Am I dreaming, or is that you, Edwards?”

The idea of exploring their surroundings had been in Luca’s mind ever since he found out they were going to Greece. But now, that they’re inside the luscious house, a nap sounds like the best thing. He knows Ali won’t leave him alone and will tease him for being tired, so Luca takes a deep breath and drags his tired legs outside. “It is gorgeous, that’s for sure,” he smiles as he looks around. “I don’t even know where to begin.” A soft breeze hits him from the left and he decides it’s a sign, “we should start that way.”
@sainiik
━━ “Which one? The water or the sky?” Ali asked, looking up from his mobile phone and rapid-composing a response. He hit send and pocketed his phone. “Any way the wind blows, eh?” He teased and moved his feet, it was high time for them to get on moving. “Here, it’s one of those 5-hour energy drinks,” and held out the small bottle for Luca to take. “It’s a small hike from the looks of it.” He pointed ahead of them, glad to see some green at least.

“Smartass,” Luca rolls his eyes with a smile on his face before putting the cigarette between his teeth. “Got a light?” he asks. Listening to Ali, he thinks a little bit more about his answer. “I guess my heart’s desire have a lot to do with music. Making a better place with music. People relating to it and the music keeping them company. I wanna be part of something like that,” he says, a bit shy. “Well… if I get all of this, would I enjoy it? because I’ll have no soul. So… but I guess there’s another part of you that enjoys things and isn’t soul-related. Like, physical manifestations. Even mentally. What is the soul anyway? It’s the essence. But maybe I wouldn’t like the things that I like without my essence so… being given all of it that I want… it would be pointless, wouldn’t it?”
━━ “You’re talking about your actual goals, Lu,” Ali teased, producing his matchbook and plucking a match, striking it and stretching his hand to light up Luca’s cigarette. “It’s tricky if you think about it. You may give your soul away, but not your spirit, yes?” Nodding at Luca’s verbal thoughts, Ali reached for the deck of cards and casually began to shuffle it in his hands. “What if I tell you I can somehow look into your future?” He offered, smiling wide. “Just for fun, of course.”
it wasn’t as if she was trying to answer in a ‘deep’ manner, but it was the first thing that came to mind. she stayed leaned back in her seat, listening to ali while looking over at him. “yeah, part of me wishes someone knew exactly what would be perfect for me– but at the same time, i want to figure it out for myself, y’know?” she said with a sigh, trying not to think too hard on it. she then shook her head quickly, slipping her sunglasses on now from how bright it was outside. “not at all. every time i have an idea, i realize that i couldn’t see myself doing it.”
━━ Ali nodded, “I like that idea—you’re unable to make up your mind, and something else does it for you. Maybe not ‘someone’, somehow letting a human being decide for you is tricky. Being an adult’s tough enough,” he mused, idly running his fingers through his hair. “Are you open to suggestions, though? Or it’s more of—whenever inspiration strikes?”
Arlo wiggled his brows in response to Ali’s remark on playing hero, as if the man would play any other card. “You know me well enough to know it’d be played, Mallick,” Arlo grinned, brow raising as he watched the other reach for his guitar. It was about time. Arlo was set on the pair creating a claymation - a mini project, among the loads of creative projects they’d been spitting back and forth to one another all summer long. Arlo had a vision - a horror claymation short film and Ali was to work on the score. “Ah – how very Zeus of you to say something like that,” Arlo shot back, smirking to himself as he moved to dip his hands in the bucket of water beside him. “What’s the saying? Size doesn’t matter..it’s what you do with it, perhaps that can be applied to souls too..but for good, hm? Although size wouldn’t be much of an issue for me.” His last sentence a bit mumbled as a cocky grin worked its way across his features at the deul meaning of his words. Arlo glanced up, encouraging the other as he began strumming, whooping as he played on. “I remember reading something like…I know the ghost of life and the perfume of souls….seems like it’d take a rather content individual, one that simply doesn’t mind living in their current state of mind, or perhaps prison to take up that offer though. Now, riddle me this, ay, Black, what is it that you’d want?”
━━ Ali playfully rolled his eyes, “Course you do, tin man,” he remarked, idly playing the opening riff of Led Zep’s Whole Lotta Love while watching Arlo work on his masterpiece of claymation. “What’s the story you’re working on?” He asked, lowering the volume this time so he and Arlo can have a proper conversation. Multitasking that is, both of them. “Hang on—so we’re establishing now that souls have sizes? Let me mull over that,” and by mulling, he meant finishing the song he’s playing and leaving Arlo in peace for a moment. “Yeah, well, you know how it goes when I play first-person shooter games?” Ali commented, pointing two fingers at Arlo, “I like the big ones,” he grinned and then frowned after five seconds, “ghost of life and the perfume of… who said that? I don’t buy it.” Now it’s the riff of Linkin Park’s One Step Closer, Ali strumming and bobbing his head. “Hn, a doorway to the multiverse,” Ali decided, “I’ve always wondered what the fourteen million, six hundred and five versions of me are doing—what do you think of this one?” Shifting notes, he played the tune, trying to keep a straight face as his guitar cover of L'amour Est Un Oiseau Rebelle blasted on the amp. “Catchy and dramatic. Does it work for your claymation project? Oh, what’s the working title?”
