summer camp counselor au for the bad kids. fabian is a lifeguard and is constantly getting distracted but the kids all love him. he doubles up by helping whenever the kids set up their games to play. adaine is the other lifeguard and mostly bothers fabian but also assists around different parts of camp as needed, normally ending up telling scary stories at night. kristen is the camp nurse and helps out in the kitchen some days, she’s not the best with kids but she has a few that adore her. fig is a camp counselor and plays music at night for everyone. riz is a counselor by technicality but spends a lot of his time trying to make sure none of the kids nor counselors kill each other before the summer ends. gorgug runs the craft tent and spends a lot of his time in there and letting kids sit with him during lunch.

oh i know gorgug runs the craft tent like the navy. you are not leaving for snack until there are no more beads on the ground please and thank you. yess he will start the kids lanyards for them every time without asking.

kristen does morning and evening meds on the porch infront of the infirmary and has her dearly beloved porch kids aka her frequent fliers. she also ventures out of the infirmary every so often to throw pedialite popsicles at the children mid day.

riz has his walkytalky on lock and his main deal is just hunting people down when they dont respond (namely fig who has lost three walkies this summer (she keeps leaving them in the craft tent)

fabian and adaine are such story tellers especially on stand when the kids are pestering them. fabian will rate the kids dives in the deep end and tell them all about how he had to walk the plank into shark infested waters and survived. adaine has half the kids convinced she can breathe underwater. there are half a dozen stories that the kids know about how fabian lost his eye, and if they ask any of the counselors they’ll just nod and say yeah for sure

adaine has such vivid visions that she can’t tell sometimes if she is living life or seeing a part of the future

kristen having to unlearn her parents bias that they taught her. sitting with fig and listening to the music she writes and listens too and realizing not all of it is bad. it isn’t dooming her soul to eternal torture, it’s just louder than other kinds. sitting with her friends at lunch and looking at all of the other sorts of people and realizing they aren’t all violent, or scary, or sinful. they are only trying to get through the school day. she talks to the cleric teacher that worships gods she’s never even heard or thought of and accepts that this is a religion that’s just as worthy as hers. these gods are real and beautiful. she reckons with the lies her parents taught her every single day.

Did she...did Kristen actually have anything to unlearn though? I don't recall her demonstrating any Helio based biases. Her intro scene was telling her mom that their God would want them to associate with other peoples and calling her a racist to her face.

Like granted life in broader society was probably surprising to Kristen, but my impression of canon was that her parents were frustrated that they couldn't indoctrinate her.

i agree she def didn’t agree with them and was very against their ideals, i just mean that the little voice in the back of her mind that sounds like her parents still remains even as she ardently disagrees with it!! she has to continue on reaffirming that she does know the correct choices and ideals! idk if this makes any sense lol

would LOVE a fantasy high plot line where some of Gorgug's shitty racist relatives visit to sorta "give him a chance" and as soon as Gorgug is aware they're there, he is on his absolute worst behavior. swearing, blasting vulgar music from his room, dressing more punk, hiding his (very good) report cards. of course he gets his friends in on it. he gets Fig and Ragh to hang around as much as possible, even trying to get Ragh to wear a leather jacket or something. he shows up with a new piercing. he gets Fabian to come over in full pirate gear. Riz comes over and pretends to steal from the tree. Adaine comes over and mentions she killed her dad. the plan eventually falls through when Kristen shows up wearing a fake pregnancy belly claiming it's his and neither of them can keep a straight face about it

what's kristen's and adaine's relationship like to you either in ur fics/wips or just personal hcs floating about in ur mind

i was JUST talking to someone who is watching fantasy high for the first time about my kristen and adaine headcanons. i think they are def older sister and annoying younger sister. adaine is always teasing her over stupid stuff and kristen aims it right back at her, and they play argue in the house a lot. i do think kristen and adaine bond over being figure heads (a saint and an oracle) and the pressure that puts on them. both of them have the worst nightmares in mordred manor so sometimes they’ll end up cuddled in the same bed to try to relax. they are sisters of all time

kristen loves knocking on adaines door at 2am bc she thinks she found her soulmate like she’s on a romcom (she did not) (she just got mugged and thought it was an intense flirting technique) (she kissed the mugger in the middle of it and she did get mildly stabbed but shhh that’s not the focus, she got her kisses in)
