A meal that had started out somewhat peaceful in a crepe shop that was near empty... “There are plenty of other tables available, you know...” And yet, even with that knowledge, someone had taken a seat at the very same table that Rin was seated at. At first, he’d just continued eating but then he got genuinely curious.. Or annoyed. Or both.

“Why.. Did you have to come sit here...?”

Most of the time when he arrived at the pool it was either empty or crowded. Today? It was different.. There was one man there and the pool was his alone. Truth be told, Rin watched the other for awhile... His form was half decent. Speed? Alright. Again, he was decent. Above average at best with potential despite whatever age he might be.

He looked older anyway.

Nevertheless, he didn’t call out to the other just yet. Didn’t disturb the water... Just waited until it looked as though the man was going to take a break before he went and knelt close to the edge of the pool when the other stopped.

“Oi.”

“When you’re rested enough.. Wanna race?”

So much for introducing himself.

It seemed unlikely.. But he didn't mind the idea. It sounded kind of... Well.

"Yeah, you’re right." Well, he wasn’t. Sousuke hadn’t considering any of the incidences as ‘just a kiss’ on his end, but this was neither the time nor the place to start brewing waves and doling out mystic implications.

"Just on the cheek then." He agreed, closing the blinds on that subject. The cheek was fine, no deeper meaning got inferred from something like that and no one Rin freaked out when they changed their minds about it five minutes later.

On the cheek was safe.

On the cheek was just something friends did.

"Let’s get going, we’re going to miss the start at this rate." Hands stuffed into the pockets of his brand new ‘join the shark side’ hoodie [courtesy of Momo Christmas] he began heading toward where crowds were gathering in wait of the spectacle.

"Mm.. What's with you, Sousuke?..."

The other was one of his closest freinds... Of course Rin would be able to tell when something was up. Had he done something? Well.. Nothing he was really aware of anyway. Even while he normally would have been alright with the subject being left at that it was the way the other spoke that bothered him. It showed in his own expression as Sousuke began walking away from him. Alright.

Great.

Frowning then, Rin watched Sousuke a moment before he followed after him.

"Oi... After this, alright? Tell me what's going on with you."

Bringing a hand up to tug at the other's sleeve first before he'd ended up sighing and shoving his hands into his own pockets. Stupid Sousuke... Now Rin was a little worried. When they found a spot, he kept his gaze towards the sky and bumped against the other then.

"... Want a candy apple later too..? My treat."

Not that they'd have time to mull over this just yet. The show was about to start, Sousuke wasn't talking and there was no time to run off to get candy apples. So he'd just stand and wait for the new year.

They shared a room and the door wasn’t locked.. There was no notification that he shouldn’t go back right away. Nothing. So how should he have taken this? Or rather, there was no way he should have expected this either. So there was just.. Shock. Moments after he’d opened the door, his jaw dropped and he stared at first before his hands moved around to find something.. Anything to throw at him! His phone was the victim and it was launched at his friend.

"Idiot! If you were going to do something weird-- J-Just.. I don't know! Lock the damn door!"
