Most of the time when he arrived at the pool it was either empty or crowded. Today? It was different.. There was one man there and the pool was his alone. Truth be told, Rin watched the other for awhile... His form was half decent. Speed? Alright. Again, he was decent. Above average at best with potential despite whatever age he might be.

He looked older anyway.

Nevertheless, he didn’t call out to the other just yet. Didn’t disturb the water... Just waited until it looked as though the man was going to take a break before he went and knelt close to the edge of the pool when the other stopped.

“Oi.”

“When you’re rested enough.. Wanna race?”

It wasn't everyday you were reunited with your bro in a strange foreign place that you honestly thought you were close to pissing your pants in fear in. Fate works in mysterious ways and Shelly wasn't about to question it!

"Don't leave me hangin'!" seriously, her arms were about to fall off stretching so hard waiting for a bear hug.

My Opinion on;

Character in general: I guess I’ve got a slightly better opinion of Archie than I do Maxie because I have a softer spot for characters that can be portrayed as comic relief, but I really do honestly wish the writers for pokemon could have played out some of his darker potential. They do a good job of making misguided, relatable antagonists but I still feel like the only pokemon antagonists that actually succeeded at being antagonists and not just obstacles with really good luck were Cyrus, Ghestis, and Giovanni. Of those three I really only liked how Cyrus was written? To me Archie seems like that kind of middle aged man that had a mid life crisis and decided he was gonna quench his thirst in the way that would have made his college frat boy friends proud. He laughs off a lot of what his ideals could have been and overall, despite his newer dialogue writing him in a better light, he still seems kind of lackluster to me and I feel so horrible for feeling that way. The fandom loves him.How they play them: Again, Meags is way better at writing Archie than pokemon is. I kind of want to describe her portrayal as like the ocean itself? He’s very calm and he tends to roll with things pretty easily, but she plays him with changing disposition that seem to be easily influenced by the state of Archie's being (the sea being influenced by the land, that’s a really nice play on symbolism you both have going there). I love how easygoing he is, but I still have that wanton want for the character to be more merciless, more of a bruiser than he’s portrayed to be, even after realizing the error of his ways. I don’t know, I really like how Meags plays him but really I still have that initial disappointment in the character himself.The Mun: Meags is the other half of the giant gay, also very parental in nature, likes to congratulate people when things go well for them and on those days where nothing seems to go right she’s always been there to lend a helping hand or a smile and I appreciate her and the relationships my characters are building with hers so much. The relationship I have with her is new, it’s building, though! I have so much respect for her and I really wish her the world, she’s a precious cinnamon roll.

Not that he had doubted Maxie, of course. But still-- seeing Archie in the flesh was... it wasn't as much a sight for sore eyes as it was one to leave him feeling mildly wary. But there was no outright condescension from Tabitha.

Old wounds ran deep. But Tabitha was courteous enough not to spite the other just upon seeing him. Were his Admins here as well, then?
