I slightly dragon-ish Zelda. I love the totk ending (because I am sappy af and love happy endings) but I also adore Zelda’s noodle-dragon form. I do think that she should’ve kept some dragon features, so a little doodle

houseplant type friend
[ID: a comic in which two characters, an elf and a dryad, are in a library with towering bookshelves. The dryad is a muddy green color, and their hair strongly resembles dying plant leaves, wilting with big brown spots around the edges, holes in them, and small pieces falling off.
The elf is standing near a table with a lantern, holding a book, and says, “Woahh Pips, check it out, this book is all about dryads!” The dryad approaches the elf and responds, “OMG meee!!”
With the dryad looking over her shoulder, the elf says, “This is so cool! I guess I’ve never seen any other dryads before.”
The next three panels each show different spreads of the book, depicting lush green dryads, and are each devoted to a single word: “just,” “uh,” “you.”
The last of these three panels has the book surrounded by illustrations of lush green dryads and shows the elf and dryad characters small in the corner, at which point the viewer becomes acutely aware that Pips looks very different than the illustrations.
The elf raises an eyebrow asks, “Pips, do you drink enough water?” Pips responds “Pfff, no…” as the elf looks over at them. The dryad looks like they’re trying to act chill as dried bits of their leaf hair continue to fall off.
End ID.]
I hate you "Abrahamic", I hate you "Judeo-Christian", I hate you Protestant interpretations being the academic standard, I hate you "BC/AD", I hate you "X amount of years before Chr*st", I hate you academic supercessionism, I hate you ignoring Jewish translations and interpretations, I hate you "The Bible", I hate you making sweeping statements about Judaism even though you have no authority to, I hate you "expert in religion", I hate you casual academic antisemitism.
I think I understand all of these references except for “The Bible.” Would you be able to elaborate on that one?
the problem is people are mixing together a lot of different things
You have the תורה (Torah) which is the Five Books of Moses, written in Hebrew for the Jewish people
You have the תנ"ך (Tanakh) which includes the Torah and later writings
You have the "Old Testament" which is the Christian version of the Torah (usually based on a translation of a Latin translation of a Greek translation of the original Hebrew)
And you have the "New Testament" (whose name implies the Old Testament which is why I refuse to use it and instead just call it the Christian Bible)
All of these things are very different, only the first two are actually important to Jews, but all of them get lumped into "The Bible" (for example how people refer to "biblically accurate angels" despite the fact that the descriptions of angels they're going off are from Ezekiel which is not the Torah)
And to answer your question from your tags, Christ is censored because it means "the anointed one", which is a translation of משיח (moshiach/messiah). Many Jews feel saying it implies that it's true that Jesus was in fact the Messiah, which we do not believe
Wow, thank you so much for that thorough explanation!
Though the bit about "biblically accurate angels" is new to me; I thought that was just a complete myth, but isn't the book of Ezekiel the third of the Latter Prophets in the Tanakh and part of the the "Old Testament" in the Christian Bible? Or am I completely off?
One of my favourite questions for figuring out a character’s motivations is which qualities they most fear being assigned to them. Are they afraid (consciously or unconsciously) of being seen as stupid? Ungrateful? Weak? Incompetent? Lazy? Cowardly? Intimidating? Like they actually care? etc.
It’s such a fun way to explore into who they are, why they do what they do, what they don’t do out of fear, and how they might be affected by the events of the story. And I love when characters have negative motivations—trying to avoid something (in this case, being seen a particular way) as much as they’re trying to achieve a goal.
i've been on this website for almost 10 years. all queer discourse looks like this:
hello fellow queers, don't you just hate those [queer subgroup] trying to harm us [different queer subgroup, "real queers" implied] by [discussing their experiences], which is [bigotry toward queer subgroup 2]. these [fascist dogwhistle] want to [fascist scapegoat rhetoric], because [identity phrenology]. clearly, we must destroy these [fascist dogwhistle, implied queer subgroup 1] because they are a threat to [queer subgroup 2] and queer people as a whole!
something else i've noticed is the bigotry is almost always framed as some kind of "invasion" of the in-group by whoever has privilege (or perceived privilege) over them. people act now like afab transfems are invading transfem spaces the same way lesbians did about bi lesbians/trans lesbians/multigender lesbians, or binary trans people about nb trans people, or queer people about intersex people/trans people/asexuals, or bisexuals (other queers too, just mostly bisexuals) did about pansexuals. it's not hard to see why of course, this is literally the Fascist Rhetoric, it's the universal strategy for rallying the ingroup against the scapegoat. but i do think it's interesting how long it took me to realise that.
I’ve been here over 10 years and yeah, this is literally the template. It’s ALWAYS like this
There’s a reason why we feel lonely even though we aren’t alone. It’s because loneliness is not about how many friends we have or how many people are in the room with us. It’s a disconnection from others. Being social doesn’t cure loneliness, loneliness comes when there is not a single person close enough to see past the illusion to who we really are and what we really feel inside.
“you’re a writer, right?”
me, staring at the one sentence i’ve managed to add in the last hour and the 12 open tabs on the specifics of shoes in 1845 Ireland: In theory.
just caught myself thinking “nooo i cant post that they’ll think i’m uncool” like brother you are on www.tumblr.com/dashboard
No for real, sometimes I find myself second guessing myself like “is this cringe?”
The answer is always “you’re on the cringe website in the cringe fandom, this is the time and place”
Athena at Telemachus' wedding (not to Circe, otherwise I'm flexible lol)
She made a point of not showing up in full armor. Ody and Pen were super proud of her for that.
Some of my comments have inspired this prompt for an Athena& Odysseus fic bc I am in the middle of a project I cannot write this right now please someone help
So, Apollo is tending to his sister after God Games, but it's not going all that well bc she has like constant nightmares of Odysseus and keeps saying she needs to see him (alternatively I am also on-board with weak half delirious whispers of his name. Yk. Or both)
So finally Apollo is like fuck this I can't work this way and picks off Ody from his raft and is like would you please just come with me for a sec and talk to my sister bc she's losing her mind over here
So ody gets to see Olympus and talk to his mentor (friend) and she's hurt and they make up and things
Please I beg can someone release me of the pain I'm feeling at not having time for this scenario cos my readers will kill me if I don't get them some comfort in my newest fic asap (they're justified)
hey, literally don't fuck if you're not intO that I support you

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
I am often self-concious of how often I talk and laugh in social settings. I've tried to stop, but can't seem to help myself. This has been a problem my entire life, for as long as I can remember, since my very first days of preschool. In efforts not to speak, I just feel myself get more and more excited until I lose my will to reign it in and spill words everywhere.
In light of that, here are some positive things I've heard about it:
"I could listen to you talk all day. I think you're one of the only people I can listen to who doesn't bore me to death."
(I burst out laughing in class after a long absence. someone across the room hears me.) "Hey! Now Tea's back!"
"You always know so many weird facts. It's awesome."
"Your life is buckwild. I love hearing from you, I never know what you're going to tell me."
"You really struggle at this, but you still show up and you do it anyways with a smile."
"How does your brain move so fast? You always have the perfect response ready to go."
"You know, I don't think you should write your next presentation ahead of time. You're much more engaging and dynamic when you ad-lib. Sticking to the script seems to slow you down."
"You give really good talks. Have you thought about teaching?"
"I can really feel your passion when you talk."
"I love how every time I take you somewhere we have funny interactions with people."
There’s something that always gets me about the kids of Hateno Village thinking of Zelda as a teacher first and a princess second. In fact, everyone in Hyrule (sans Yiga) loves her for who she is, for her intelligence, hardworking spirit, kindness, and determination.
