The realizations just keep coming tonight, each one deeper than the last.
After reflecting on those coaching calls, I decided to open up my old Tumblr account. I honestly couldn’t believe it when I saw that it’s been almost seven years since I first created it. Scrolling through those old posts was like stepping into a time capsule. I could vividly recall the exact emotions behind every single word—the moments I felt completely down, broken, lonely, furious, or overwhelmingly happy.
Reading about the struggles, the desperate hopes, the fragile faith, and the big aspirations of the person I used to be compared to where I stand right now left me in absolute awe. It amazed me just how far I’ve truly come.
I felt this deep, powerful wave of gratitude toward God for bringing me through all of it. For never letting go of me during my darkest moments. For the disappointments, the hardships, and the bitter trials that, back then, felt like punishment—but were actually blessings in disguise. I see it so clearly now: without those exact struggles, I wouldn't have built this strength. My mindset wouldn't have shifted. I wouldn't be the resilient, grounded person I am today.
So much has changed in just a few short years. Relationships failed and came to an end. I transformed from someone carrying heavy resentment into someone living with joy, peace, and confidence. Losing people who were no longer aligned with my path was painful, but it was necessary to make room for the few who genuinely inspire and help me become the best version of myself.
Looking back at how close I was to giving up—how I wanted to end my life back then—makes standing here today feel like a miracle. I am so overwhelmingly glad I stayed. Everything really does happen for a purpose.
If anyone out there ever stumbles across these words—whoever you are, wherever you are, feeling like the weight of the world is too much to carry: please remember that we only get this one precious life. Feel the pain, embrace the hard days, and cherish the light when it comes. Keep holding on through the night, because the dawn always comes, and the joy waiting for you on the other side is worth every single step.
