Sometimes I think I view Bonnie through the lens of being a sad girl too much and then I think about her life and realize that no, she literally just is one.

Some quick bamon headcanons:

Bonnie and Damon definitely go on vacations together, just the two of them, at least once a year.

They both have keys to each other's homes.

Bonnie is a frequent world traveler, and Damon flies himself out to see her as often as he can because he can, but also because Bonnie is almost never in Mystic Falls very often or for very long and he is always missing his favorite witch.

Honestly I think when Bonnie left Mystic Falls after Enzo died she never went back... and not by happenstance either it was definitely an intentional choice.

Its one I can picture her making the moment she decides to leave in canon (the final episode) or later in her travels after healing a bit more from Enzo's death. And maybe, at most, she's nostalgic about it but not regretful in any way. capacity.

Although it's for distinctly different reasons, I often think about how Bonnie and Kai could have connected over how lonely and isolating their overall experience with magic was.

Bamon situationship roles:

Generally: Bonnie is the liar and Damon is the loser.

Canonically: (specifically season 7 breakup) Bonnie is the loser and Damon is the liar

(this switches later though, see: huntress!bonnie bamon fight)

Internally: Bonnie thinks she's the loser and thinks Damon is the liar (she's wrong); whereas damon knows/realizes first that he's the loser and she's the liar.

Alternatively: they're both the loser and the liar.

In Conclusion: in all of damon's situationships with the women that he loves he's the loser, and they are the liars and that's not going to change with bonnie. It's just going to be for different reasons.

The thing is, canon bamon is toxic (unhealthy if you will) but in a way that's more sad than sexy. When they fight, though, it is both sexy and sad.
