The history of beauty pageants in Nigeria cannot be told without these remarkable women. Their names, faces, and legacy remain an important part of our story.

This video takes you through a journey of Miss Nigeria winners from 1957 till today,showing their then and now moments.

It is important to note that Miss Nigeria is completely different from Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN). They are two separate pageants with different histories and purposes.

In this episode, we celebrate some of our beautiful mothers, women who once wore the Miss Nigeria crown and still carry grace and elegance even in their later years.

To honour Nigeria’s oldest pageant, here is a full roll call of the queens who have worn the crown since 1957. While some have sadly passed on (1958, 1962, 1964, 1968, 1970, 1986), their legacy lives on, and their memories remain cherished.

All of the produce here is locally grown on there farm made organically! They are really out here healing the community! They also have classes to show you how to make your own farm at home . They have their own chickens for fresh eggs and cattle for fresh beef ! I loved how I was able to go to the farm and see the cabbage , zucchini, pears and pick some to eat ! They also have a flower garden and pick from it to make bouquets! Check this place out !!

Single mothers living under the poverty line may be able to get some relief thanks to a new initiative presented by a Black-owned bank.

Redemption Bank is part of the less than 1% of Black-owned banks in the United States and are offering a new Bank King Card debit card aimed at helping single mothers who live in government-subsidized housing escape poverty.

Juneteenth marked the start of the debit card program.

Bank King Card represents a new regenerative banking model that starts with investing in mothers who are a few hopeful dollars away from breaking out of poverty, and opening up America’s vaults of opportunity that have been closed to too many for too long,” Redemption Holding Co. chair and Chief Executive Ashley Bell said.

Reports by the Urban Institute and the Jeremiah Program show that households led by single mothers experience widespread economic and caregiving hardship.

Redemption Bank seeks to change that.

Meet John Boyd Jr., a farmer from Baskerville, Virginia, and also the Founder of the National Black Farmers Association (NBFA), who continues to work his own 1,000-acre farm, where his grandparents once labored as sharecroppers. He has been farming that land with his father for the past 30 years, growing soybeans and wheat while also raising livestock. “I know there were slaves and sharecroppers that helped build these barns here,” he told ABC News. “You can see the logs were hand-carved by wooden axes. … Just looking at that reminds me of history, where I came from and where we have to go.” He created the National Black Farmers Association to help Black farmers across the country keep their land and gain fair access to resources. His work shows how one family’s deep roots in the soil can grow into lasting support for farming communities everywhere.

Marian Croak holds over 200 patents and most of her inventions are used all around the world. In 1982, she joined AT&T Bell Laboratories and worked there for over three decades. In 1994, she established the fundamentals for what is now called "Voice over Internet Protocol" or VoIP. Her inventions made it possible to convert your voice into a digital signal, allowing you to make a call directly from a computer or another digital device.

Clarice Phelps, a Tennessee State University graduate, became the first African American woman to help discover a new element on the periodic table, Tennessine (Ts), element 117.

Her remarkable 20-year journey led her from serving in the U.S. Navy to conducting groundbreaking research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where her work made this historic discovery possible. Now pursuing her Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Clarice continues to inspire the next generation of scientists to break barriers and redefine what’s possible.
