Sam Octigan’s “MYTHOS” at The Stockroom.

Currently on view at The Stockroom in Melbourne, Australia is artist Sam Octigan’s solo exhibition, “MYTHOS.”

“MYTHOS” finds Octigan turning his focus to a series of different cultural myths, exploring and considering the commonalities, differences and roles they’ve played throughout history and how they permeate to present day. Extending his own interest in the themes of memory, history, influence and truth in an alternate way by working from existing material.

If you’re in Melbourne definitely stop by, it’s only on view until November 27th, 2016.

No Place Like Home A solo exhibition held at the RVCA Corner Gallery in Melbourne, June 2015 “No Place Like Home’ explores the idea of leaving, returning to and creating a home. The possibility of what a new environment can hold. The desire for comfort, familiarity and to put down roots. With this body of work, Octigan continues his use of form, figure, composition, color and texture to represent these ideas. Contrasting realistic rendering with dynamic abstractions to produce larger, compelling, paintings on canvas.’

This month i've been taking part in an artist's residency at the RVCA Corner Gallery in Melbourne, preparing work for my next show and looking after James Jirat Patradoon's current show HYDRA.
