The tones of this room were inspired by my favorite @taschen book, Michelangelo. Incredible archive of his work (the greatest artist that ever live, in my opinion) The book itself is 30plus lbs and when I bought it (15 years ago) There was a sale in Soho and I could not afford the book or carry it home. I convinced a hot dog vendor to give me a ride home because it was 4-6pm in NY back in the day when you savage yellow cabs wouldn’t pick anyone up during that time. He spilled hot dog water on some other books but thankfully this one was sparred. A whole other story! One of the laid back beachside bars we designed at Itzana Hotel in Belize. Oddly enough, I never drink when I’m at home and/or alone; strange, right? I Haven’t had a drink in almost 5 weeks...a true social drinker but tonight I plan on getting WRECKED. I’ll probably start with a sidecar, an old fashion (with Rye) then a reposado on the rocks, and maybe some henny. What do you drink? And have you been drinking every morning to get by🤪?! Started this is 2014! Itzana Resort & Residences. We almost Forgot about this beauty since we haven’t finished installing, & shooting (amongst many other things) Oh well, Things take longer in Belize🤪Thanks @kellybehunstudio for reminding us of all love that went into it. We found incredible weavers in Antigua that fabricated these “Asawa” inspired light fixtures that span up to 20 feet each! Handmade tiles we sourced from the side of the road in Belize and the coolest furniture we found at the famous flea market in Mexico City -La Lagunilla.
