@sandorandrassy-blog
I bear a cross on me, I bear a god on me, of whom I’ve lost faith in a long time ago.

jude.
“Maybe those blogs are right,” Jude said with a chuckle, though he admitted that wasn’t being very helpful to the guy. “You’re right though, I can’t name a specific blog or anything that would help with Lanford stuff. The best way to do it is just to wander around on foot, let yourself get lost. That’s what I did. You’ll soon realize it’s not as big as you think, and pretty much get the map of it down in your head in no time. Whereabouts do you live in Lanford, if I may ask?” He had only meant to stay for a moment, but he found himself getting pulled into their conversation somehow. Jude had to laugh at what the guy said, even with his accent which showed he wasn’t from around here, he’d figured out New Yorkers down to a tee. “No, I’m not from the city, though the amount of time I’ve spent there collectively means I might as well be. Still, living here has definite upsides. Huge skate parks, for one. You don’t get those in the city.”
Sándor shrugged, even raising his hands up before letting them fall to his sides again; “ I have only moved around once before and that was about one kilometer away, now I’ve moved across the world and then another, I think most of all, I’ll just need time to figure... well, anything and everything out. “ With that, he let a little sigh out; because it was hard, essentially alone and lying in bed second guessing if he did the right thing. “ Oh, no worries. I live like, uh, right at the edge of North End. Coming here was already venturing out a bit. “ A look outside from one of the windows of town hall revealed a picture perfect scenery, unlike New York with its massive buildings and miniature apartments. “ I can’t skate, but at least I wake up on my own and not from a seventy-year-old screaming in the middle of the night in the apartment above me. “
riley.
“Yeah, no. Donuts is one of those super lame answers that’s probably just unique to you. I’m looking for more like, a universal ew that’s local. You get it?”
“ Yeah, well.. you said something about coffee too, didn’t you? The easiest way to ruin anyone’s day is to put too much sugar in it... or, rather just stick with salt, there are people who actually like the sugar part. “
sophie.
“See? If I ever actually go there, maybe you can draw me a map to not lose my way around. How does that sound?” Sophie asked, the thought of knowing her way around a place if she ever visited it. Thanking him, the brunette walked outside, the cold wind hitting them before she actually turned around to face him. “I’m going to be your guide for the day - your phone wouldn’t last all day long. We’re starting with Westbrook, yeah?”
“ Well, I’m not the best of drawers, but I’ll think of something to bypass that surely. “, Sándor reassured, able to paint the greatest pictures of his hometown in his mind, but barely a straight line in real life. Another great picture in itself was the mid-transition view of the town between autumn and winter, what he loved most, yet also something very new now. “ Thanks; I would guess so? We’re here already, and, if I’m to believe anything from my half-read flyers, it’s supposed to be very lively anyway. “
Are you scared of the dark?” he asks me. I say, “Why would I be scared of what is part of me?

lucas.
“I am trying to convince my brother to get a dog and my nephew is helping” he replied with a chuckle, “this has happened to a friend of mine. His puppy kept running off until it was trained and it takes us like half an hour to chase. I would not this as a sign” he added with a smile. “Nice, it’s a nice and cute name”
“ Good luck with that, I tried that with a friend back home because my landlord didn’t allow pets. He never got one. “ Admittedly, that particular friend had been deadly allergic to dogs, something that Sándor himself had only found out later in his life, but he had still been gravely disappointed. “ Thanks “, he chuckled lightly, getting some dispute from his little pup from the vibrations of his chest from it; “ I just think it’s an inconvenience here, I just let most people call me Alex or by something else entirely, so they don’t get embarrassed every time I’ll have to correct them in their pronunciation. “
eva.
“Okay, help me out here,” Eva said, as they browsed the bookstore clearance rack, her fingers tracing down the spines of book covers. “What do you get the dad who loves crappy detective novels, but has read every one of them in existence? Ooh — this one looks nice,” she added, holding up a cover.
@sandorandrassy
Sándor loved bookstores when they were empty, which this one seemed to be with the exception of Eva and him; the perks of not living in a big city. They’d gone there at her request, instead of randomly meeting there, so he’d stayed near flipping through a few pages of a random book he’d picked up. “ I wouldn’t know, I’ve never had to buy one. And the Reverend Mother didn’t like novels, either, so it was real stories most of the tie. “, he told her, casually as he flipped the book shut and turned to look at her choice. “ That sounds majorly creepy if that’s what you’re looking for. “
hazel.
“That’s close enough to never want to get closer I’m sure?” She smiled lightly to make sure he knew she was just joking. She would never judge anyone’s job, and actually admired those who dared go into politics. They were important after all. “Yeah, I hope I wont. I’m praying I won’t, because I think it might drive me crazy if I do, you know? Anyway… I’m Hazel - it’s nice to meet you.”
“ Yeah, I mean if there was nobody else to do the job... anyway, politics are dreadful and messy, I wouldn’t want to hold that kind of power or responsibility “, he chuckled, although if the real possibility would’ve occurred there’d be nothing to laugh about for him, also known as Mr. Indecisive or Equal to all. It just wouldn’t work, Sándor in a managing position. “ I’ll include you in mine, then, you’ll certainly need it. “ He still had both his hands on the warm mug filled with, well, something that was too diluted with milk and various sweeteners to actually call coffee, to warm them from the cold outside but regarded her with a smile, warm and friendly instead of offering her his icy hands. “ Very much so, Hazel. My name’s Sándor, but Alex is just fine, too. “
jamie.
Jamie laughed and gave him a nod, “You’ve just got to ignore them, go about your life.” That was his mindset for Lanford, but it had been for other places too. Worrying about what other people thought never got him anywhere before, so it certainly wouldn’t now. “Unfortunately,” Jamie paused before continuing on. “They don’t think it was an accident…” He informed lightly, trying not to dampen the man’s spirits too much. “They’ve not got much to go on anyway, or so that’s what I’ve heard. I don’t really know much about it.” He shrugged, “As I said though, it’s a great place.”
There was a small pause in which the mild smile, that was on Sándor’s face so naturally, froze as he wasn’t sure what to respond exactly. Everybody who knew him also knew the circumstances that he’d grown up among, the most just didn’t assume that he’d seen the worst, even if he had at an early age already. There’d just always been that unwritten rule of no kids involved that was broken and pinched a little more hearing this now. The conversation had a hint darkness hovering above, something that Sándor wanted to shake at all costs. “ I’ll remember to drop by sometime, but I guess, anywhere here is kind of a great place. Small town’s really got a charm that I didn’t think I’d like at first. “
sebastian.
Sebastian nodded, “Budapest.” he repeated as if he were confirming what the male had just revealed to him. For a quick moment, Sebastian reminisced about the time that he had been fortunate enough to travel to the country back before he became a medical student. The trip was brief, but it would always be a hazy memory for Sebastian. “What the hell kind of job is requiring you to live near the city? I don’t blame you, the city is fucking horrid. Everything about it is horrid. Yet here I am.” he raised his hands in defeat, dramatically letting them fall and slap against his thighs.
“ Yes, have you ever been there? Most Americans seem to never have seen most or any parts of Europe. “ He tilted his head, questioning, slightly but innocently implying how most people he’d met til now couldn’t even locate his home on a map. “ I write about the city, partly, and I take photos. I could move write about any city in the world, I mean, so could you, but The New Yorker kind of implies this city, however rude or crushing it is. “
sophie.
The fact she made him laugh was enough for Sophie’s smile to re-appear, brighter than ever. For someone like her, it was never a big deal to help around people, especially those who in her eyes, were new in town. “Of course it’s okay - yeah. Nonsense, you’re not a trouble nor I mind showing you around. I’m pretty sure you would have done the same for me.”
“ Surely I would’ve if this was Budapest or I knew my way around here yet. But I don’t. “ They weren’t too far from the doors, so Sándor took two bigger steps to reach and open the door for her, gesturing outside with one hand, “ so, if you would lead the way, that would be great. Because I have relied on my phone in this part of town. “
alexis.
“Oh—” Alexis was pleasantly surprised, “Mr. Remnick is a lovely man. Or so he is outside of the workplace, I’ve unfortunately not had the pleasure of experiencing his authority in a professional setting.” Like many in the journalism world, Alexis had become familiar with them over the years. “And what kind of articles do you write? Health? Lifestyle? Fashion? Technology?” She listed off some topics from the top of her head, “Fake it until you make it, I think that’s what people say…” Alexis was a good actress, she knew that. “I can also talk for hours without stopping which helps.” She laughed, giving him a shake of the head. “You’re really not bothering me. I’ve been filing all morning, anymore and I think I will go insane.” Everyone needed a break and Alexis was happy to call this hers. “Are you enjoying Lanford so far?”
As she seemed to like his answer, a confused half-smile crept back onto Sándor’s face as he tilted his head in just that manner. “ He keeps everything quite professional, neat so to say, so we might just know two sides of the same coin. But never meet the other side, I won’t at least. “ He waved it off; not even sure if he ever wanted to meet his editor as a private person. It would be a bit overwhelming. “ Mostly politics now, something along the lines of already being acquainted with most of it and a foreigner’s opinion, I guess. I used to write cultural or lifestyle back home. “ Everyone else had enjoyed his lifestyle part, yet Sándor had dreaded writing something so... pointless. “ Yes, I really do, I had the fear that I would eventually move back to Budapest because all of this was a bit overwhelming at first, but everything settles in place about now. “
mason.
A satchel and a slew of brochures. It would’ve been easy to assume he was a tourist, but logic said no one would ever tour Lanford. The city maybe, even Philly, a few hours away, but Lanford was a speck on the spectrum. There was a sense of achievement when the stranger secured the bar as his next spot as if Mason had actually helped, “Yeah, it ain’t a bad place. Might even pop in myself today. It’s not too busy either if you strike it at the right time,” He continued, more passively than anything, making conversation. Though, if there was another thing the blonde was feeling it was the urge to leave, so he pulled out his phone from his pocket and checked the time. He liked to consider himself a good friend, but clearly, his co-worker wasn’t exhibiting similar interests. Mason made an executive decision, and rose from his seat, “… What do you think of football?”
Though Sándor shot him a cheery smile very classical for him, he couldn’t help but feel a little awkward as the silence settled between them for a moment longer. It was something very foreign to him not to know what to say, not really much of a talker but normally in his secluded environment of either church or work, where he always had a topic in common with the other. “-- I used to play, but that fizzled out into nothing. But I still watch most of Arsenal and Liverp- “, he stopped in the middle of his sentence, realizing that he’d misunderstood there. “ You meant American Football, didn’t you? I don’t really know that much about it. I know Tom Brady and Myles Garrett “
lucas.
“Nice to meet you Sandor and am glad that i could help” he smiled, “I hate it when animals are lost and alone without anyone. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you from? I really like your name and i can pick it’s origin”
“ I wasn’t sure if I should really get a pet.. but I hope this isn’t a sign for me to return him or anything. “, Sándor chuckled, a bit nervous about it, though the puppy seemed content, held against his chest. “ Right, thanks, I’m from Hungary. It’s a really common name there, like Thomas here. “
jude.
“You’re not alone there,” Jude chimed with a laugh, neither golf nor the Kingsgate crowd ever having interested him in the slightest, save for that one weekend when he and Malcolm borrowed a cart to scatter banana peels around the course. An afternoon well spent. “Really? Well maybe I should work here,” he joked, looking around the place; a grim, dull square building full of equally grim and dull workers. “Honestly, what even made you come all the way out here, man? Even random blogs on Google are probably more informative,” Jude said, dropping his tone not to be overheard. “Oh? What do you mean not so very New York?”
Although it had seemed like it before, hearing the guy saying that he didn’t exactly fit there relieved Sándor, anyway. Lately, it seemed more like he was a nervous person, prone to worrying about what others thought a lot, even if that wasn’t like him at all -- it was just the change in scenery and kind of people that were all strangers to him, that caused him to be jumpy all the time. “ I’m not sure there are that many blogs about Lanford, that tell me anything but go to New York City instead. “ He shrugged his shoulders, there wasn’t much of a reason for him to go back where he left just a month ago. “ Oh, sorry, are you from the City? It’s just that you’re not, defensively rude. “
