Inspired by the venue I work in at Pinc College campus and the amazing students I work alongside with as a 'Pathway mentor' I created a piece of work responding to the Mass Observation display in Bolton museum and art gallery Bolton Library and Museum Services. The students also made work responding to the museum various collections.
I rent a studio at Neo:artists and via an interdisciplinary practice through various forms of expression, my work addresses personal narratives and universal concerns.
This is achieved by using different mediums to explore ideas and our ‘human condition’ commonalities. My work investigates and responds to different topics and environments to enable self-expression and connection and interactions with people from all ‘walks of life’ and countries inspiring. I particularly enjoy working and sharing ideas with other creatives and running alongside my practice I mentor art students who experience barriers within education and deliver community projects.
Recently I was commended for work selected for the Bury Open23 at Bury art gallery.
This Loving Feeling is a video response made to an online art residency via the arts organisation CAMP. The artist leading was Martha Wilson - a pioneering feminist artist who explores her female subjectivity through role-playing, costume transformations, and “invasions” of other people’s personae.
During my residency participation I created 'This Loving Feeling' exploring impromptu role play and aspects of what a relationship may present and comprise of over time.

The making of celebration (Thema king of celebration)
https://www.theharris.org.uk/product/a_harris_christmas/
This piece was created collaboratively by two Bolton based artists, the concept was inspired by the book Christmas: Making the Perfect Celebration, by C. Bell (2006) which is available in the Harris Library.
The text reads: The making of celebration (Thema king of celebration)
The artwork is an animated version of the text, redefining the space as it moves and responds to air currents generated by visitors. Shadows are momentarily cast, distorting words and creating abstract shapes.
The red ribbon text can be linked to the practice of ‘gift-wrapping’ for any celebration; no matter a person’s cultural beliefs. The circular discs reference contemporary Christmas tree baubles and represent the idea of a ‘whole world’ view; the circle reflecting a continuing cycle.
The text layout invites the viewer to interact with the piece figuring out the disjointed sentence or creating their own interpretation.
‘Perfect’ has been deliberately omitted because not everyone has the ‘perfect’ celebration. Over the past few years, people increasingly feel pressure to make their Christmas ‘perfect’. This is often unattainable especially with the current mental health challenges, social and financial strains of the coronavirus pandemic. Incorporating the possibilities of movement and time within the decoration is fitting when the majority of the people living in lockdown have restricted free movement.

'This Loving Feeling' video was made in response to an online art residency in December 2021 via the organisation CAMP. It was an amazing opportunity for me to make work in response to the group participants. The artist leading is Martha Wilson (b.1947) a pioneering feminist artist and gallery director, who over the past five decades created innovative photographic and video works that explore her female subjectivity through role-playing, costume transformations, and “invasions” of other people’s personae.
