This blog was dedicated to documenting a 6 months art residency in NYC for six months at the NARS Foundation (from July to December 2014), funded through a crowd funding campaign at http://www.catarse.me/pt/sandranars I am a visual artist, and I have exhibited in solo and group shows in Brazil, Europe and the United States, notedly at the Brazilian Embassy in Brussels in 2007, at the Centro Cultural Sao Paulo in 2012 and the Brazilian Consulate in NYC in 2014. As a tacit contract with my backers, this blog serves as evidence and forensics of a successfully carried out two years project. Thank you all!

Wearing a sculpture made of recycled coffee capsules and wine foil, the artist embodies a sovereign born of waste—reclaiming both materials and narrative. The stop-motion video explores identity, transformation, and female agency, turning domestic remnants into ritual armor. In collaboration with Ana Pigosso, and with sound by Bruno Gold, the piece speaks of resilience, care, and power forged from what is discarded.

Zum zum activation PT subs from Sandra Lapage on Vimeo.

Zum zum is an onomatopeia for the sound of a beetle. Part carapace, exoskeleton, armour, highly decorated mantle, this piece has its own sound when it is worn. This mantle sings!
