Flood In Franklin Park - Grant Green (Live At The Lighthouse, 1972)
Grant Green - guitar
Claude Bartee - tenor saxophone
Gary Coleman - vibes
Shelton Laster - organ
Wilton Felder - bass
Greg Williams - drums
Bobbye Porter Hall - percussion
Wilton Felder
Wilton Felder was not only a great bass player, but also a saxophonist and one of the founders of The Crusaders.
The funny thing about it is I never really think of him as a bass player i always think of him at the saxophonist even though I can think of all sorts of song that he played on. Maybe it's because he's one of my favorite saxophone players. Love those Texas tenors

Happy Birthday Adolphe Sax!

Happy 199th birthday Adolphe Sax!
Antoine-Joseph “Adolphe” Sax was born on November 6, 1814 in Dinant in Walloon in Belgium.
This incredible man brought to us the saxhorns, which became the conical bore family of brass instruments (ex. cornet, baritone horn), greatly improved the design of the bass clarinet, and, of course, invented the saxophone.
Thanks Mr. Sax!
Late, I know, but it’s part of the necessary transfer.
Happy birthday, Adolphe Sax! We would be a lot worse of without your contributions and innovations.
