Reopening Old Wounds → Dantana
Dani nodded meekly in response, letting out another small sigh. Of course she couldn’t fully throw her trust into that thought, but, for the time being, she’d let her worries subside. If anything, the stress of it potentially happening would only make things worse, and with the tour coming up quickly, she couldn’t let herself get stuck in that mindset. Dani let her head rest back against the couch when Santana moved to get changed, staring up at the ceiling of the trailer. If she looked at that mess any longer, she’d put off going home right away in lieu of cleaning. When her wife gave her the signal to head out, she pushed herself up from the couch, taking ahold of her wife’s hand as she led the way out of the trailer, toward her car. “You’re an amazing actress, you know that?” Dani said, somewhat offhandedly as they walked. It wasn’t completely out of left field though, as she tried to see what good might’ve come out of the scene she had just watched unfold before her, on the set. “I mean, that didn’t take that long to film, and with it being such an…intense scene, you’d expect it would take much more time than that. You’re incredible.”
As far as Santana was concerned, the day had been shitty for the most part, but at least she’d made progress with Dani. Even if her wife didn’t believe her when she said that she knew the woman wouldn’t hurt her, she knew it, and she’d do whatever she needed to do to help make sure Dani didn’t turn out like her father. Gently squeezing the hand holding her own now, she smiled at the compliment. “Yeah, I know.” She half joked. She knew she was pretty damn good at it, but it was still nice to hear. But as Dani added on to her statement, she let out a small sigh. “Part of me just wanted to hurry and get through it so that I could get you out of there.” She confessed softly. “But I don’t know. The first few times we started getting into those scenes, it took a little longer to film. I think having fans reaching out to us with their stories of abuse and stuff makes it easier. Like I know that the storyline is helping people come to terms with their own abuse, and we’ve even had some women say that they were afraid to even admit that they were being abused until they got into the show, so I just think about that as we’re filming and it makes it easier to focus and really nail the scenes.”
