on the tagging system
hello there ! this blog has been getting a lot of sudden attention, so i wanted to make sure i leave a nice explanation of my tagging system. hopefully, this will allow you to search for more specific pictures of your favorite sanrio friends with ease.
character names
[character name] - this character or a representation of this character is featured in the image
just [character name] - this character is the only character depicted in this image
mostly [character name] - this image focuses on one character in specific, accompanied by some in universe friends
only [character] and [character] - these two characters are the only two depicted. currently, this is mostly in use for my melody & kuromi, as they are often depicted together in groups, but have graphics that focus on the both of them, too.
other
which are you - these graphics feature multiple characters, or multiple versions of the same character. they are usually posted on sanrio’s official twitter with a caption asking, “which are you?”.
background - these images are intended by sanrio to be device wallpapers. i tag them as backgrounds regardless of their aspect ratio.
motivation - these pictures are usually posted by sanrio tagged as “motivation monday” on twitter. they are just nice pictures of characters with encouraging messages
friend of the month - every month, sanrio picks a different character to be the focus of their twitter output. images tagged as “friend of the month” are the characters profiles released when they are announced as the month’s character.
pompompurin butthole - pretty self explanatory. i personally think its funny when they draw his butthole but i get that its not for everyone. block this tag if you don’t enjoy being disrespected by pompompurin.
real objects - there are many images where digital drawings are combined with images of products or plushies. i will use the tag “real objects” for these. this blog focuses on digital graphics, though, so they should not be too common.
japanese text - these images contain japanese text. i do not have the ability to translate the vast majority of these without using google translate, which often translates awkwardly and inaccurately.
pandemic - these images were made during the covid pandemic, and feature relevant visual elements.
