A: Someone wrote a blog about that show. Conspiring that Bill was a robot. Little did they know...

[LAUGHTER]

It's been years since I last revisited that blog, but the title was something along the lines of

"Drugs or Malfunction?". It talked about how Bill overreacted to being splashed by water.

I'll give them that. We stopped the show over that, but they didn't know it was to make sure his system wasn't ruined.

I just don't understand how they came to that conclusion. His every motion was human. My uncle never made him seem robotic, because, of course, that'd give us away.

A: My uncle was with us for our first ever tour. He would lay low, keeping watch over Bill to see how he did with bigger crowds.

One night, some asshole had the bright idea to splash Bill with their drink. Being that this was the first edition, his skin wasn't yet waterproof, and absorbed quickly into his system.

Butcher was the one who noticed

Bill acting weird. We didn't think at first that it would affect him that much, but it did. He whispered my name then nodded to Bill.

Stopping the show then and there, we walked Bill back stage and back to our bus, so my uncle could run a diagnostic.

No permanent damage was done, only temporary. He couldn't recall certain memories, but snapped back quick once my uncle repaired him.

That might've been one of the scariest moments we had on tour. I thought he would've been found out, but no one batted an eye. Nobody probably knew technology that advanced existed in 2005.

The more I think about it. I hate my uncle. It started off as a silly little project for us to use in our band; turned torture.

He was so fucking human. We were all attached. To take that away from us was like murder.

The lead singer of my band was a robot.

That's already been revealed, that isn't the shocker, but it's been almost twenty years since he had to be shut down.

I remember the day it was decided.

My uncle, his creator, saw what we were unintentionally doing to him.

What the show business was doing to him. At that point, he realized it wasn't our fault.

Robots weren't meant for such extremities.

I just don't understand why he had to be shut down. Even with pain receptors built into him, he couldn't actually be hurt.

The only time we hurt him was by going on tour and not letting him fully charge for the day. Tours were rough. There were a few close calls (where his identity was almost revealed) but the build up, overall, damaged his battery beyond quick repair.

He told me that the world wasn't ready for him.

I believe he just wasn't up to the commitment of constantly repairing his "Mona Lisa".
