i hate the idea that you must make everyone like you because i can show somebody my favourite song in the whole world and they will tell me it’s terrible but that doesn’t mean i can’t still dance to it and adore it…we are not universal but maybe we are somebodies favourite song

It seems like the older I get, the more irrationally angry casual censorship makes me. And it isn't just the "unalive" "grape" alleged filter-dodging vernacular, but the way normal words will be peppered with asterisks, or screenshots will have words like "gay" "hell" "fuck" etc either partially or entirely blurred. Who is this helping? What is the purpose of it, except to reinforce shame and elevate a flimsy perception of purity and safety, however those things manifest. It's so tiresome and I'm sick of it.

i have a question

what happened to will's glasses? like...i might have missed it or maybe they don't let people have glasses when they're in prison/jail/framed by their bf (which is CRAZY if true but iguess technically it could be a weapon to someone clever enough) but like

he just exits the cage with no glasses and serves a little bit extra without them. did accepting that he's a little bit evil cure his poor vision? is this his Clark Kent #design??

half canon half headcannon is that because will hides behind his glasses so much, we only start to see less of them once hannibal is getting inside of his head and he begins to feel as though he is finally understanding himself more clearly. when he gets out of prison and sees hannibal again, he isn’t wearing the glasses anymore, and continues to go without them. but then, when hannibal turns himself in, we see will wearing them again. once again; retreating. trying to hide from the version of himself that comes out when he’s around hannibal because he has seen how destructive it can be and he’s trying to convince himself he doesn’t want it

look at the way will accepts and holds the glass of wine in sorbet. when you hold a glass of wine, the proper way is to take it by the stem of the glass, so that the warmth of your hand won’t transfer over to the wine and make it lukewarm. will holds the glass by the ‘bowl’, or the bulb, which is the incorrect method.

in naka choko, though, he takes the glass by the stem, pinching it with his forefinger and thumb, and even takes a whiff of it like we see hannibal do.
