i havenāt touched the world of lottie jekyll and essie hyde in a while, so here the established facts (which were changes from the previous drafts).
the time period: the whole story starts on january 1st, 1872 and it ends on august 31th, 1872.
the other characters from strange case of dr jekyll & mr hyde: other than our genderbent versions of our jekyll and hyde, the characters from stevensonās original novel stay the same. they wonāt be the main focus of the au, but theyāre there. utterson, lanyon, enfield, and poole are kinda in the background, but their roles remain the same. carew still gets killed, which isnāt great for him.
each characterās ages: charlotte is 31. esther is 26. felix is 35. irene is 31. lilavati is 25. jane is 23. wilfred is 38. utterson is 42. enfield is 37. lanyon is 38. the kidsā ages remain the same.
the newest edition to the main cast: althea utterson ā aged 28. close friend of charlotte and irene. younger sister of gabriel j. utterson. fiancĆ©e of vincent milton (another original character i havenāt properly developed yet). sheās a social butterfly within both her inner friend group and her social circles. sheās a sensitive soul who writes poems about nature and love. within the context of the story, she ends up being a mother figure to charlotte and felixās children once both parents ⦠yeah i wonāt say anything yet.
charlotte and felixās relationship (no i havenāt come up with their ship name, so please give me your ideas): instead of felix being nearly a decade older than charlotte, heās 4 years older than her. they got married when she was 20 and he was 24. they met a year prior, because he was her fatherās client and the two fell in love.
charlotteās sexuality: sheās bisexual. and so is esther.
irene sinclairās role within the story: she is a detective, primarily because she realised that the police were deeply incompetent and she could help solve crime effectively, due to her wit and determination. she still struggles because of how society is built on misogynoir, though. that part of her story doesnāt change.
this is what iāve gotten, for now.
