Hey there! Deipnon and Noumenia are coming up again so I decided to post my routine for those two days.
My Deipnon and Noumenia Routines:
In ancient Greece the day started at sundown, so Deipnon and Noumenia would start at sundown/night time and end at the same time the next day, making night first.
Shower (prayer to Hygeia for cleansing and give an offering of water), wash face (with khernips if i feel like it), and brush teeth.
Bend 3 coins if not already bent (reason why is here).
Go to the crossroad and pray with my hands outward toward the crossroad, and offer the coins, tossing them out into the road.
I physically clean my entire room. Do all my laundry and put it away, vacuum, dust, wipe down any surfaces, clean everything on my altar, etc.
I then cleanse my whole room with my cedar bundle.
This is also the day I take down my ward, like my holly cross, hagstones, etc. and cleanse them with smoke (usually frankincense) or khernips.
My tarot deck, pendulum, and any divination tool get cleansed last. I then leave them on Apollo's shrine and say something like "Lord Apollo, god of divination and prophecy, hear my prayer! Please bless these tools with truth and accuracy this coming month. I thank you for your blessings." then offer the rest of the frankincense incense to him.
Shower (prayer to Hygeia for cleansing and give an offering of water), wash face (with khernips if i feel like it), and brush teeth.
Fill my silver chalices with drinking water and go out into the dark of night and offer it to Selene, pouring it out in her name.
Shower (prayer to Hygeia for cleansing and give an offering of water), wash face (with khernips if i feel like it), and brush teeth.
Make an offering to the household deities, Hestia, Zeus, Apollo, Hermes, and Hekate. I pray to them to protect my home, and also ask them to bless some of my wards with protection for the coming month, like my shells full of salt. I have four small shells I found at the beach that I will cleanse in khernips, dry, then place sea salt and crushed bay leaves into. I ask them to bless the salt with protection. I then place them in each corner of my room.
I spend the rest of the day relaxing. This was a day of no work for the ancient Greeks, so after I finish my wards I'm pretty tired from cleaning so much and am happy to lay around.
