isn’t it like…the realest shit ever?
tide between us
requested! ♡ | content: mutual pining, unresolved tension, friends to lovers, emotional confusion, winter atmosphere
jeonghan never really explains why he likes the sea so much during winter.
you ask him once, hands hidden inside your sleeves as you try to keep up with his slow steps along the cold shore, and he just shrugs.
“because it gets empty.”
the answer should feel simple, but nothing with jeonghan ever is.
the wind is brutal that afternoon, cold enough to leave your cheeks numb. he’s wearing a black beanie pulled low over his hair and an oversized hoodie that swallows his hands whole. pretty in a way that feels unfair. quiet in a way that feels even worse.
you walk in silence for a while, listening to nothing but the waves crashing against the rocks.
it’s not uncomfortable silence. it never is. with him, silence feels like a conversation nobody else knows how to hear.
“you’re still walking that close to the water even though you hate getting your shoes wet?” he asks suddenly, eyes still fixed ahead.
you let out a small laugh.
“you pay way too much attention to me.”
“someone has to.”
your heart does that stupid little squeeze again. because that’s what jeonghan does. he says small things like they mean nothing while completely ruining you without even trying. or maybe he is trying. sometimes you think he knows exactly what he’s doing.
especially when he looks at you like that.
that long, quiet stare that lingers half a second too long.
like now.
you turn your head toward him and find his eyes already on you, soft and unreadable. he doesn’t look away immediately. he never does. he just stays there, watching you like he’s thinking about saying something.
but he never says it.
never.
“what?” you ask quietly.
the corner of his mouth twitches.
“nothing.”
liar.
the problem with being friends with yoon jeonghan is that he gives you just enough to keep hoping, but never enough to be sure.
he grabs your hand when you cross the street, but lets go too fast. falls asleep on your shoulder during long bus rides, then acts normal when he wakes up. texts you “did you get home safe?” after every single hangout. knows you better than anyone else. and still, when seungkwan called you two a couple last week, jeonghan laughed.
laughed and said,
“please. she only tolerates me because she’s patient.”
you laughed too. because it was either that or let everyone see the way your chest caved in.
the wind gets harsher near the rocks and you rub your hands together, trying to get feeling back into your fingers. jeonghan notices immediately. without saying anything, he grabs your wrist and pulls you closer to him.
his warmth seeps through the layers of your clothes instantly.
“jeonghan—”
“you’re freezing.”
“i’m fine.”
“liar.”
his voice comes out low. calm. way too intimate.
you hate the effect he has on you. you hate even more that you’d probably let him do anything he wanted with your heart and still thank him for it.
jeonghan keeps holding your wrist long after you stop shivering. and then the silence comes back. that dangerous silence.
waves crash against the shore. the sky slowly darkens above you. you can smell his perfume mixing with the cold salt air and somehow that feels unfair too.
because nobody should be allowed to look that beautiful while emotionally confusing someone at the same time.
“sometimes i think you do this on purpose,” you say before you can stop yourself.
he turns toward you slowly. “do what?”
“make me confused.”
his expression softens instantly. and somehow that hurts more than anything else.
jeonghan stares at you for a few long seconds. quiet. unreadable.
then he lets out a small breathy laugh, almost humorless.
“you think you’re the only one who’s confused?”
and there it is. there it is.
because suddenly everything changes. your heartbeat becomes unbearably loud.
“jeonghan…”
but he looks away toward the ocean before you can say anything else.
like he’s scared.
maybe he is.
“i like it here in winter,” he murmurs. “because the whole world gets quiet enough for me to hear my own thoughts.”
you swallow hard.
“and what do they say?”
finally, he looks at you again.
wind-tangled dark hair peeking out from under his beanie. pink nose from the cold. tired eyes that look painfully sincere for once.
“that i should’ve kissed you a long time ago.”

seungcheol's hand curls around your own as he tugs it over to him with no resistance, leaving you to try and type one-handed at your laptop for the moment. you don't ask questions (seungcheol has always been the kind to surprise you with little things like this), but you do look over to see that he's sporting his own matching ring to the one he's sliding onto one of your fingers. he looks up at you, hair hanging in his eyes, and grins before pressing his lips against the ring.
"it reminded me of you, so i got it." he lets go of your hand, and you hold it up to survey the ring. the pattern does seem like something you'd like, and this is far from the first pair of rings the two of you have bought for one another, so it's a perfect fit. "do you like it?"
"it's pretty," you hum, and your hand cups his jaw. "not as pretty as you, but pretty."
he just scrunches his nose in response, smiling as best as he can when you squish his face a little bit more. seungcheol frees himself easily enough, leaning over just to press a lingering kiss against the side of your face before he gets back up to go put away the rest of his little shopping haul. he'll tell you about the time he spent with friends once you're done with your work.
but you wait until he gets a few steps away to call out, "you don't love me enough to kiss me right?"
all it takes is the sound of his thundering steps for you to know you've got him, hook, line, and sinker. he leans over your chair to kiss you properly, and you feel the way he smiles against your lips before pulling away again with that damn twinkle in his eyes. "hi," he says softly. "i love you."
he's too easy sometimes to tease. you just smile, blowing him a kiss as he walks away. "love you, too, silly."
emergency contact
content: hospital scene, exes to lovers, light angst with comfort
it had been three months.
three painfully long months of pretending you were fine.
three months of deleting his name from the top of your messages but never from your emergency contact list. you told yourself it was practical. he lived closer than your parents. he answered calls no matter what time it was. it didn’t mean anything.
except it did.
the accident wasn’t dramatic. no shattered glass everywhere, no cinematic slow motion. just rain, slippery pavement, a car that braked too late. your head hit the window hard enough to make the world blur.
when you wake up, everything smells like antiseptic and fear.
“do you have someone we can call?” the nurse asks gently.
you hesitate, but your lips move before your pride can stop them.
“mingyu.”
mingyu is halfway through a photoshoot when his phone rings.
unknown number. he almost ignores it. almost.
“is this kim mingyu? you’re listed as an emergency contact for y/n—”
he doesn’t remember grabbing his jacket. doesn’t remember saying goodbye. doesn’t remember the elevator ride. he just remembers the word hospital echoing in his head like something violent and cruel.
by the time he gets there, he looks like he’s run a marathon. hair messy. hoodie thrown over his outfit. eyes already glassy.
“where is she?” he demands at the front desk, voice cracking in a way he hates.
they ask who he is. he doesn’t think.
“i’m her boyfriend.”
it slips out naturally. instinctively. like it’s still true. like it never stopped being true.
you’re sitting up when he bursts in. actually bursts.
the door swings open too hard, and he stumbles inside, breath uneven. for a second, he just stands there. looking at you. checking every inch of you like he’s counting fingers, counting breaths, making sure you’re real.
“hey,” you say softly.
he lets out a shaky laugh that sounds nothing like a laugh at all.
“hey?” he repeats. “you’re saying hey to me?”
his eyes fill immediately. he tries to blink it away. fails.
he’s across the room in seconds, large hands hovering near your face like he’s scared to touch you too hard.
“are you okay? does anything hurt? your head? your neck? tell me where it hurts.”
“mingyu,” you whisper, and it sounds too tender.
he freezes. because you used that voice. the one you used when you were still his.
he cups your face anyway. careful. trembling.
“don’t ever scare me like that again,” he says, and his voice breaks completely now. “do you have any idea what that call did to me?”
you swallow.
“i’m sorry.”
he shakes his head immediately.
“no. don’t apologize. don’t you dare apologize.”
he leans forward, pressing his forehead against yours like it’s the only thing keeping him upright.
his shoulders shake once. twice. and then he’s crying. quietly. but fully.
“i thought—” he stops. breathes. tries again. “i thought i lost you.”
the words hang between you.
you broke up because it got complicated. because schedules were insane. because loving each other hurt when you couldn’t be together properly. because you both thought you were being mature.
but sitting here now, with hospital monitors softly beeping and his tears warm against your temple, it all feels stupid.
“i’m still your emergency contact,” he mumbles, almost accusing.
“i know.”
“why?”
you look at him. really look at him.
his lashes wet. his nose red. his mouth trembling even though he’s trying to look strong for you.
“because you always come,” you say simply. “you always show up.”
that breaks him all over again. he pulls you into his chest carefully, mindful of the IV, mindful of the wires, but holding you like he’s afraid the universe will try to take you again.
“of course i show up,” he whispers fiercely. “you’re my girl.”
your heart stutters.
“gyu…”
“don’t,” he breathes. “don’t correct me right now. please.”
he pulls back just enough to look at you again.
“i told them i was your boyfriend,” he confesses softly, almost sheepish.
you almost laugh.
“you did?”
“yeah. didn’t even think. they asked who i was and i just—” he gestures helplessly. “that’s what i am.”
your chest tightens. because he still feels like it.
“i’m not letting you go home alone,” he says firmly. “i don’t care if you yell at me.”
“i won’t yell.”
“good. because i’ll carry you if i have to.”
you smile faintly.
he notices. his thumb brushes under your eye.
“does it hurt when you smile?”
“no.”
“good,” he murmurs. “keep doing it. i like that one.”
there’s something softer now. quieter. like the storm already passed and left everything exposed.
you reach for his hand. he laces his fingers with yours immediately. instinct. muscle memory.
“i missed you,” you admit before you can stop yourself.
his breath stutters.
“i know,” he says, but it’s not cocky. it’s fragile. “i missed you too. every day.”
silence again. not awkward. just heavy with everything unsaid.
he presses a kiss to your knuckles. then your wrist. then your forehead. gentle. reverent. like you’re something breakable.
“you scared me so bad,” he repeats softly.
“i didn’t mean to.”
“i know.”
he rests his head against your shoulder carefully, arms wrapped around you in the safest hug he can manage.
“next time,” he mumbles, voice muffled against your hospital gown, “if you want to see me that badly, just text me.”
you let out a small laugh.
“is that what this was?”
“obviously,” he says, sniffing dramatically. “you orchestrated the whole thing.”
you roll your eyes.
he smiles finally. small but real. then he looks at you again. serious.
“we were stupid,” he says quietly.
you don’t argue.
“i don’t care how busy things get,” he continues. “i don’t care how hard it is. i’d rather fight the world with you than be calm without you.”
your eyes sting.
“mingyu…”
“i’m not asking for some big dramatic answer right now,” he says quickly. “just— let me take care of you tonight. let me sit here. let me hold your hand.”
you squeeze his fingers.
“okay.”
and that’s enough for now. he stays.
he doesn’t leave your side even when the nurses tease him gently. he feeds you water like you’re royalty. adjusts your pillow every five minutes. glares at the heart monitor like it personally offended him.
when you start getting sleepy, he brushes your hair back softly.
“i’m here,” he whispers.
your eyes flutter. “i know.”
he presses a kiss to your forehead. “i love you,” he says it so quietly he almost hopes you don’t hear.
but you do.
and even half-asleep, you whisper back, “i love you too.”
and for the first time in three months, neither of you feels like you’re pretending anymore.

where words aren’t required
content: fluff, comfort, quiet intimacy, safe silence
you don’t realize how tired you are until you’re not expected to be anything. not funny. not interesting. not okay.
just… there.
the apartment is dim, late afternoon light slipping through the curtains in that slow, lazy way that makes time feel suspended. music plays from a small speaker on the floor — nothing loud, nothing with lyrics that demand attention. just soft beats, a low hum, something that fills the space without interrupting it. you’re lying on the rug, staring at the ceiling.
vernon is beside you, stretched out on his back, one arm bent behind his head. there’s a careful distance between your bodies — not cold, not awkward. intentional. respectful. like he’s giving you room to exist exactly as you are.
your fingers are close enough to his that you can feel the warmth. neither of you is talking. and somehow, that’s everything.
you’ve always been bad at explaining things. especially feelings that don’t have clean names. exhaustion that isn’t physical. sadness that isn’t dramatic enough to justify itself. the kind of heaviness that just is.
with other people, the silence would feel loud. loaded. like a question waiting to be answered. with him, it’s gentle.
vernon breathes slowly, evenly. you can hear it if you focus — the rise and fall of his chest, the soft exhale through his nose. grounding. steady. like an anchor.
minutes pass. maybe more. time feels blurry in a good way.
your fingers twitch, barely moving, and his react immediately. not grabbing. not pulling you closer. just adjusting, sliding his pinky against yours until they touch. skin to skin.
he doesn’t look at you when he does it. just keeps staring at the ceiling, like he doesn’t want to make it a thing. like he understands that sometimes attention can be too much.
after a moment, he squeezes your hand once. not tight. not lingering. just a single, deliberate press.
i’m here.
your throat tightens.
you swallow, blinking hard, staring at the tiny crack in the ceiling paint you hadn’t noticed before. it would be so easy to cry — not the loud kind, just the quiet, leaking kind. the kind that surprises you.
vernon doesn’t say anything. he never does, when words would get in the way.
instead, he adjusts again, this time a little closer. his shoulder brushes yours. warm. solid. real. his hand stays connected to yours, thumb resting lightly against your knuckle.
you finally speak, voice barely above a breath.
“i don’t really feel like talking.”
he hums in response, low and understanding.
“that’s okay.”
no are you sure?
no what’s wrong?
no pressure to unpack yourself into something digestible. just acceptance.
you let your eyes close.
the floor is cool beneath you, grounding. the air smells faintly like laundry detergent and the coffee he made earlier. mundane, familiar things. safe things.
vernon shifts again, this time turning his head to look at you. you can feel his gaze even with your eyes closed — not heavy, not invasive. just… there. like he’s watching over you without demanding anything back.
after a while, he speaks again. quietly.
“we can stay like this as long as you want.”
your chest aches at that. in the best way.
you turn your head slightly, forehead almost brushing his shoulder. your fingers curl around his a little more firmly now, a silent thank you. he responds by lacing them together properly this time.
still no words. still no expectations.
just two people sharing space, breathing the same air, letting the world stay outside a little longer.
and for the first time all day — maybe all week — you don’t feel like you have to disappear to be at peace. you’re allowed to be quiet. and he’s right there with you.

the only pov I want. I’d bet all my money that he’s a moaner.
hiiii lina 💕 may you pls give us something soft and sweet with minghao 🥺
afternoon hush
content: soft domestic intimacy, afternoon nap, cuddling
the room is quiet in that sleepy-afternoon way, sunlight spilling in through the curtains like it forgot how to be loud. the air feels warm and slow, heavy with the comfort of shared silence.
you wake up before fully waking up — awareness returning in pieces. the first thing you notice is his arm around your waist, loose but sure, like it belongs there. the second is his hair tickling your cheek, soft and completely messed up, strands falling wherever they want.
minghao hums quietly when you shift, eyes still closed, forehead resting against yours. his breath is warm, steady. unhurried.
“mm,” he murmurs, voice low and sleepy. “you’re awake.”
you smile, barely opening your eyes. “so are you.”
he doesn’t answer right away. instead, his fingers trace slow lines along your side, absentminded, like he’s grounding himself in the fact that you’re still there. then he presses a soft kiss to your lips — not deep, not rushed. just there. a promise more than anything else.
another kiss follows. then one on your cheek. your nose. your forehead.
you laugh quietly, brushing his hair back from his face. “you look so messy.”
he finally opens his eyes, squinting against the light, lips curving into that small, fond smile he only gives when he’s half-asleep and completely comfortable.
“so do you,” he says, leaning in to steal another kiss, this one lingering. his thumb brushes under your eye, gentle. “i like it.”
you curl closer, legs tangling together naturally. his hoodie smells like him — clean, warm, familiar. minghao tucks you in tighter, chin resting on the top of your head, like the world can wait as long as you’re right there.
neither of you rushes to move. there’s no reason to.
the afternoon stretches on quietly, filled with soft kisses, lazy smiles, and the kind of closeness that doesn’t need words — just shared warmth and the certainty of being wanted exactly like this.

Hii I have a request…maybe like seungcheol with an anxious s/o maybe in crowds or like in certain places like clinics or hospitals? Anything just love the way you write everything
stay with me
content: anxiety, crowds, comfort, established relationship, soft cheol, grounding
crowds always hit you before you realize they will.
it’s subtle at first. the noise stacking, voices overlapping, too many bodies moving too close, too fast. your chest tightens without permission, breath turning shallow, fingers curling in on themselves like your body is bracing for something it can’t quite name.
seungcheol notices before you say anything. he always does.
your hand slips just a little in his, grip loosening as your gaze drifts past him, unfocused. his thumb stills. his shoulders square. in one smooth movement, he steps closer, turning his body so he’s slightly in front of you, blocking the rush of people like it’s instinct — like it’s muscle memory.
“hey,” he murmurs, low enough that it’s just for you. “look at me.”
you try. you really do. but the world feels too loud, too full, like it’s pressing in from every side.
so he brings your hand up, pressing it flat against his chest instead.
“feel that?” his heartbeat is steady beneath your palm. strong. grounding. “match your breathing to mine. okay? slow.”
he breathes exaggeratedly on purpose. in through his nose. out through his mouth. slow. patient. waiting for you to follow. no rush. no pressure.
his other hand slides to your lower back, warm and firm, anchoring you right where you stand. his forehead dips closer to yours, almost touching.
“you’re safe,” he says quietly. “i’ve got you.”
someone brushes past, bumping his shoulder, and seungcheol barely reacts — except to pull you closer. closer. until your chest is nearly pressed to his, the crowd fading into a blur around the solid, familiar shape of him.
your breath stutters once. twice. then slowly… it starts to follow his.
“good,” he whispers when he feels it. “that’s it. i’m right here.”
you nod against him, fingers tightening in his shirt. grounding yourself in the fabric, in his scent, in the way he keeps murmuring small reassurances like a quiet rhythm meant only for you.
“wanna step outside?” he asks gently. “or we can stay. either way.”
the choice matters. he makes sure you feel that.
“outside,” you manage, voice small.
he doesn’t say a word. just nods, guiding you with one hand still holding yours, the other never leaving your back. he moves slowly, deliberately, clearing space for you without making it obvious, like he’s protecting something precious instead of drawing attention.
when the door finally closes behind you and the noise dulls, you sag into him without even thinking. his arms wrap around you instantly.
“there you go,” he murmurs into your hair, lips pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “you did so well.”
your chest aches — relief, vulnerability, the aftershock of holding yourself together — and he feels it, of course. he always does.
“you don’t ever have to apologize,” he adds, as if reading your mind. “not for this. not for anything.”
you cling to him, breathing him in, letting your nervous system settle against the steady presence of the man who loves you like it’s his job.

It's your work that keeps the cogs of Caratblr turning, and we're honoured to be part of your journey here.
