Hi! Do you know of any websites in which I can watch movies/series in English with subtitles in Arabic? I want to help my bf to learn english and I think it could be useful. Sorry, I know this is a langblr for learning arabic, but I just don't really know whom to ask)))
Hi, anon!
Don’t apologize, my dear. Your question is relevant to studying Arabic and I’ll be happy to answer you!
To watch Arabic streaming sites, they have Arabic subtitles for different movies you could try any of these website :
Cimalek
Moviedor
Egyshare
Cinalight
Topvideo
Fushar
More places you could check :
The English movies on Netflix have Arabic subtitles
I’m not sure about the movies on google play, but I beleive that the movies to rent/buy on the app store also have English subtitles
Edit : I’m sorry anon, I just noticed that I misread your ask and thought you wanted Arabic series with English subtitles not the other way around.
I’ll keep the rest of the information that I previously posted under the cut since it’s not relevant to your ask.

مرحبا، اختي! I saw a proverb recently and was hoping you could explain it for me. I know the literal meaning of the words but didn't understand the proverb. اختر الرفيق قبل الطريق I think it means something like - choose a friend before the method, but I'm not sure, could you help me out with the explanation and let me know if this is commonly said or heard?
Hi anon!
This proverb literally translates to “choose the companion before the road” and I think the context here is travelling, because you need someone you trust and rely on to travel with you. It sounds familiar, but a more common saying in the same context is اختر الجار قبل الدار (choose the neighbour before your house) to emphasize the importance of having good neighbours.

An article titled “The Bisexuals” written by Judy Klemesrud and featured in the April issue of New York Magazine in 1974, discussing the (perceived) rise of bisexual identification.
This very much reminds me of modern moral panics over “the rise of transgenderism” and I liked this quote from Dr. Wardell Pomeroy (co-author of the Kinsey Reports) in the article that succinctly describes the real reason for any rise in people coming out:
“There is probably no more bisexuality now than there ever was, but the atmosphere now is such that people will admit it freely and talk about it more. There is really not that much change in behavior, just much more openness in talking about sex, which we can credit in part to the women’s movement and the gay revolution.”
I found a 12 year old article about how biphobes are always changing the definition of bisexuality to make it seem as unrealistic, unappealing and limiting as possible:
“People are quick to tinker with the definition of bisexual until it’s not something anyone would willingly pick for themselves. Bisexuals are supposed to be equally attracted to men and women – always androgyny, but never to trans people – and always at the same time. They supposedly need to have identical amounts of sex with both, and don’t notice the differences between them. We’re all told bisexuality is a phase that everyone goes through and grows out of, and no one’s a “proper” bisexual, even though “everyone’s bisexual really”. Bisexuals are depicted as the monsters spreading Aids, and breaking the hearts of partners inevitably cast aside for a different gender. Who’d want to be bi!“ - Marcus Morgan: Bisexuals: putting the B back in LGBT (The Guardian)
Literally nothing has changed except we’ve added even more limiting definitions of bisexuality. One of the reasons why bisexual activism is so frustrating is because people refuse to listen to how bisexuals describe bisexuality so we’re stuck debating definitions instead of talking about the problems our community faces.
