From The Outside Looking In

Approximately 6.5 million people in the U.S. have an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD). From the outside looking in, it is a world unimaginable to most. From the inside looking out, it is someone’s reality. Growing up with a disability only becomes more challenging after graduating from high school. For general education students, it is ‘challenging’ to apply to college, pick somewhere, apply for scholarships. For a student with a disability, it is much harder and more complex than that. 84% of adults with IDD were unemployed in 2015.
