About me
Hello! So, my name is Sama (like summer but instead of saying 'sum' say sam). I am a fashion editor and columnist of a magazine called SSEDITORIAL and I love my job. I am from London and I've always been into fashion. My earliest memories are from America's Next Top Model on TV, so yeah, I guess I'm a veteran now.
What is my blog about?
My blog is about my job, which is in the fashion industry. So my blog is about the fashion industry. As an editor, I have lots to do behind-the-scenes. I realised that it would be cool to store all the work I do in the dark somewhere in the ether, so on occasions where I feel like a mess, I have somewhere to go, where I can visually see how I'm being the change I want to see in the world.
To keep it short and sweet, I blog high fashion images that inspire me, what I get up to in a day in my life, and other visual content like GIFs. And yes, I make my own gifs!
My blog is pretty self-explanatory but if you want more, scroll my feed. Here are some fun get to know me questions and answers below 👇
Get to know me: Fashion columnist
Three words to describe your style? Smart. Clean. Intentional.
What outfit makes you feel most powerful? A sweet black dress under a black sweater with worn-effect black boots over tights.
Signature piece? Stud earrings.
Classic or trend-driven? Classic always.
Fashion rule you love breaking? Mixing metals when it comes to jewellery. Rules are made for those without vision.
Get to know me: Closet confessions
Most expensive item you own? A shearling coat. It's so big I rarely wear it.
Something you'll never get rid of? Tights with holes in them. There's always something to do with a pair of tights in general innit?
Biggest fashion regret? Not investing in cute tops. I'm consistently struggling with this.
How organised is your closet? It's organised by season, so I'd say it's fairly organised.
Get to know me: Shopping philosophy
Dream shopping city? I'm an online kinda girl so I can see everything relatively at the same time. But Italy maybe.
Online or in-store? Lol. I don't mind in-store though. I've worked in retail before so I'll walk in if I want a change of scene.
Designer you'll defend forever? No one is above the rule of law.
Trend you refuse to touch? Maybe all of them. Trends are a little juvenile. They're for people who haven't developed their sense of style.
Get to know me: My opinions (uncensored)
Logos: chic or tacky? Depends on how big they are. If it can be seen from across the room, it's tacky.
Can you judge someone by their shoes? Oh, absolutely. You shouldn't but one can't help these things.
Is comfort overrated? Slightly. Anything worth chancing requires discipline.
Difference between fashion and style? Fashion is given to you. It is a dress. A shoe. A jacket. Style is your interpretation of fashion. It knows no bounds and is influenced by your lifestyle.
Get to know me: Icons & inspiration
Ultimate style icon? It's hard. The first person that came to mind today is Ralph Lauren, so I'll say him.
Favourite fashion era? The 90s. The era was incredibly versatile.
One fictional closet you'd raid? Layla Keating from All American.
Runway show that changed your life? Hu Bing x Consistence London. Iconic. Amazing. Everything I needed and more.
