Forgotten Heritage by Matt Emmett
In the words of the artist Matt Emmett:
There is a thrill in exploring an environment that allows you to step into a previously unknown world and discover something first-hand, taking your time and noting the details as you go. Having a camera with me allows me to prolong that thrill long after the building is gone. It’s an often quoted cliché but there really is a strong sense of palpable history present in abandoned buildings, the items left behind like paperwork in a drawer or plaques or signs in an industrial plant, allow you a glimpse into the past. I consider experiencing these places to be a great privilege.

Chicago Architecture in Paper Craft
John Morris, the blogger and photographer behind projects such as Chicago Architecture Data and Chicago Patterns, has been focusing his efforts lately on recreating some of Chicago’s most common and iconic styles of residences in paper miniature form. His latest project, called Tiny City, showcases some of Morris’ recreations of historic Chicago buildings but also invites others to join by making their own miniature models.

Monstea Tea Packaging by Yvone Moser
“There is a substance in every tea called »theine«. It works as a natural fertiliser for plants. »monstea«, a tea for children, provides this information in a playful way. After consuming all the tea the monsters could be used as a flowerpot for plants. One teabag is labelled as »Zaubertee« (magic tea) which is supposed to be used as a fertiliser for the seeds you’re going to grow.”
Yvone Moser is a communication and graphic designer based in Würzburg, Germany. She is a co-founder and creative director of »bungalow« kreativbüro focused on branding, packaging, graphic design and print design.

Packaging for Beau Cacao by Socio Design
“We were invited to design the packaging for their first two bars, Asajaya and Serian. Our geometric gold foiled pattern was inspired by traditional Malaysian fabric designs, and reflects the distinctive moulded shape of the chocolate within. Paper colours were chosen based on the flavour profiles of the chocolate, red to match smoky tobacco and paprika and yellow for caramel and brioche. This system of pattern and colour provides a foundation for future iterations of packaging.”
Socio Design are an experienced design and strategy agency based in London Bridge, South London. They help transform brands and businesses through carefully crafted design and rigorous strategic thinking. They apply meticulous detail, skill and craftsmanship to every stage of their design process, ensuring their work is both unique as well as aesthetically strong.
