Tor is VERY old, older than anyone really knows, and xe could not even hazard a guess as to how old xe actually is because xe has (self imposed) amnesia! That being said, let’s talk about some of the stuff xe doesn’t remember!
Xe didn’t always have the cage- Xe spent a lot of xyr early life being worshipped as a god, representing the forces of chaos within a pantheon created by a reclusive village. Xe of course enjoyed the position, and did xyr very best to keep the destructive sources of chaos from ever touching the people who lived there! Xe took extra care of the people who paid special attention to xym in temples, but there was one in particular who spoke to xym like a friend, which Tor had precious few of at the time. Let’s call this person Eris. After years of Eris talking to xym through the temple, xe had begun to care very much about her, and so xe was very upset when she was attacked just outside xyr temple walls. Xe used xyr forces of chaos to protect her, killing the attacker in the process and convincing her that xe was actively watching over her.
From that day on, she began searching for ways to pull xym to the material world. Xe tried to discourage her whenever possible, knowing that xyr manifestation would bring ruin to the village xe loved, but every bit of chaos that xe sent to stop her research only inspired her to keep working harder.
When the work was complete, xe tried to flee, to leave so the village would be saved, but her magic was too powerful, and xe manifested inside xyr own temple as one of the ultimate forms of chaos; Fire. The building burned to the ground with her inside it, and the winds xe sent to put out the blaze only spread it to the other structures. The more xe panicked, the higher the flames raged, and the entire village was razed in minutes.
Bound to the material world with no one left to believe in xym, xyr powers and xyr mind spiraled out of control. Everywhere xe tried to go, chaos reigned, and everything was inevitably destroyed. Xe finally decided to head north, to spend the last dredges of xyr time alive on a glacier- the one place xe knew the flames couldn’t destroy. When xe arrived, xe met the Winter Queen, the first being xe had met that could hope to control xyr chaos.
Xe begged her for help, for a fresh start, for the ability to control the power that filled xym to bursting. Xe didn’t want that power, not if it meant this, and xe wanted to forget. The Winter Queen agreed on the condition xe work for her instead of wandering aimlessly- she offered xym a sense of purpose. Xe took the deal.
Tor intentionally level capped xymself and is quite frankly terrified of remembering xyr past, so xe wears a spinning pyramid cage like a metal bunker for nuclear warheads! So as a consequence, xe’re a total weirdo (affectionate).
