A collaboration of woodcuts, screenprinting, spray paint, hand made paper and anything else we feel like adding or subtracting. Elmo Thamm and Patrick Sargent produce an ongoing series of portraits that bear "Witness" to popular culture from days long gone (and some other things).

As involved as the process for this was, I really enjoyed working on this intaglio print!

Joan of Arc will always be "the first man" to me.

Not pictured: 10+ hours of planning, applying ground, carving the ground out, etching the piece in acid for different lengths of time depending on which lines were supposed to be darker/lighter, painting over the whole thing with another layer of ground and adding a whole new layer of lines to etch for another entire (culmulative) hour on impulse... etc.

POST SOCIAL DIGITAL PRINTMAKING We conducted a series of 8 experiments using traditional printmaking techniques using a provided starter kit of materials. They made thier own natural inks, captured textures from random surfaces and used materials found in thier local environments as starting points for creation.
