A/n: Hi! Would you be willing to make a Joan Jett x Female Reader fan fiction with platonic age regression? The reader regresses and Joan takes care of her since her family is unsupportive. No worries if you can’t. (The request!!)

Joan was like a mother to me, she was always with me, I met her through a family friend, she raised me as her own, my mother left early on, always making sure I was okay, bringing me to her shows, letting me play with her guitar from time to time.
Today though? Was the shitest of all days, my mother decided to call and tell me she is trying to take me away from Joan, and that I need to get my life together, which doesn’t even fucking makes sense. I am older enough to live on my own… right?
The lights of the small backstage dressing room flickered slightly, buzzing softly against the quiet hum of the outside world. You were curled up on the worn couch, knees pulled to your chest, your oversized hoodie swallowing you whole. Joan sat across the room, tuning her guitar, her sharp eyes glancing your way every so often.
She knew you were quiet today—quieter than usual. It wasn’t uncommon for you to retreat into yourself, especially after a tough phone call from your family. Joan had overheard the muffled argument earlier and noticed the way you’d been clenching your fists afterward, trying to hold it together. But she also knew you well enough to wait for you to come to her when you were ready.
After a long moment, you finally spoke, your voice soft and hesitant. “Joan?”
She looked up immediately, setting her guitar aside. “Yeah, kid?”
Your cheeks flushed, and you hesitated, fiddling with the strings of your hoodie. “Can I… can I stay here with you tonight? I—I don’t think I can go back home.”
Joan’s brows furrowed, her expression softening. “Of course you can,” she said firmly. “You don’t even have to ask.”
You nodded, but your lip trembled, and you quickly turned your face away. She was by your side in an instant, her leather jacket creaking as she sat next to you on the couch.
“What’s going on?” she asked gently, her tone a stark contrast to her usual tough demeanor.
You hesitated again, your fingers twisting in the fabric of your hoodie. “I… I feel little,” you admitted quietly, your voice barely above a whisper. “And I don’t think they’d understand.”
Joan didn’t need you to elaborate. She knew what it meant when you felt “little”—the way you regressed into a younger mindset as a way to cope with the world’s harshness. It wasn’t something you could control, and it wasn’t something you should have to apologize for.
“Hey,” she said softly, tilting her head to catch your eyes. “That’s okay. You’re safe here with me, alright? Nobody’s gonna judge you or make you feel bad about it.”
You nodded again, a tear slipping down your cheek. Joan reached over and wiped it away with her thumb, her touch surprisingly tender for someone known as the Queen of punk.
An hour later, the two of you were in her small apartment, the faint scent of her favorite leather jacket lingering in the air. She had set up a cozy nest of blankets and pillows on the couch, complete with one of her old teddy bears that she swore was just lying around—not that she’d admit it was hers from years ago.
“Alright, kiddo,” she said, setting a mug of hot cocoa on the coffee table in front of you. “I’ve got snacks, a stack of cartoons, and I’ll even sit through The Care Bears Movie if you want.”
You giggled, the sound surprising even yourself. “Thanks, Joan.”
She ruffled your hair affectionately before sitting down next to you, her arm draped over the back of the couch. “Don’t mention it. Everyone needs someone in their corner. And for you, that’s me.”
As the first cartoon flickered to life on the screen, you leaned against her, feeling safe for the first time in what felt like forever. Joan didn’t say anything, but the way she pulled you closer and adjusted the blanket over your lap said more than words ever could.
She was your rock, your safe place. And she wasn’t going anywhere.
I HOPE I DID THIS OKAY IVE NEVER DONE SOMETHING LIKE THIS BUT I HOPE IT WAS GOOD!
