i miss my ex bestfriend & everyone else that i have ever loved but don't want any of them back either
what the fuck man
This website really enjoys periodically hitting me with an emotional freight train, huh?
the natural lifespan of a fandom is unlimited. when well tended a fandom can be functionally immortal. and yet everywhere you look you see newly bred fandoms withering and dying when they’re barely a year old. barely even six months old. fans are looking at their six month old fandoms and saying i think it’s on its last legs, should i euthanise it? when with the proper care that fandom could outlive them for decades. it’s sad. sad state of affairs we’re in.
january was five months, february was normal, march was about three weeks, and april so far has been about twenty minutes.
Why did 4 months of this year go by in like a week
Where am I
“Perhaps you have forgotten. That’s one of the great problems of our modern world, you know. Forgetting. The victim never forgets. Ask an Irishman what the English did to him in 1920 and he’ll tell you the day of the month and the time and the name of every man they killed. Ask an Iranian what the English did to him in 1953 and he’ll tell you. His child will tell you. His grandchild will tell you. And when he has one, his great-grandchild will tell you too. But ask an Englishman—” He flung up his hands in mock ignorance. “If he ever knew, he has forgotten. ‘Move on!’ you tell us. ‘Move on! Forget what we’ve done to you. Tomorrow’s another day!’ But it isn’t, Mr. Brue.” He still had Brue’s hand. “Tomorrow was created yesterday, you see. That is the point I was making to you. And by the day before yesterday, too. To ignore history is to ignore the wolf at the door.”
- A Most Wanted Man, John le Carré
I think we need to be less gentle and forgiving of women who date shitty men. You knew he had DV allegations/SA allegations/children he’s abandoned/fucked up political beliefs and you still threw him some pussy? Bird. Off with both of your heads sorry
how it's feeling rn
This shit is so funny to me. Jesse goes into this weird fucking building, says hi to the Janitor, hears a guy blow his brains out, steps over his corpse to pick up the magic gun he offed himself with, is subsequently beset by Visions and then attacked by weird drones and the literal FIRST PERSON she talks to after all this is a unnervingly cheerful pretty lesbian and she's like "hmm... I like her for some reason" and then immediately agrees to go do errands for her
if you think for even just a second how fucking crazy bonkers it is that women are so frequently kept from being protagonists or important or fully realized characters when its like. That is literally 50% of the world population. Half of all people (more or less. hopefully more as time marches on!) are women. And you look at media and think about how many protagonists are men and their best friends are men and the ensemble cast is 80-100% men and the fandoms are about men and the romances are about men. well. YOU GO INSANE
