Violet Sands is a brand new project out of Brooklyn formed by members of a bevy of other IHM supported indie acts, including Savoir Adore, French Horn Rebellion, and Love Like Deloreans. The trioās brand of scintillating electronic pop on one of their first songs, No Matter What, is something that you donāt want to miss. Though No Matter What boasts some MĆ and MIA like āhey heyā spunk, Ā itās a smooth, sensual glider with grooving Phantogram like glitch funk. The more I listen to No Matter What, the more I find myself lost in its caressing folds of gooey heat. Excuse me as I get up to spin around the room to the alluring song.
Skela first captivated me with her immaculate voice on Josh Jacobsonās Not Alone several months back. She immediately had me wondering who this spectacular songbird might be. The Brooklyn based singer songwriter takes my breath away once again on her own solo track, Rivers, an elegantly sparkling but agonized ode to heartbreak. Its ambient soundscape meld seamlessly with its tender keys and Skelaās extraordinary vocals. Skela teams up with producer and co-writer Josh Jacobson once again on the song, a graceful and fluid ballad I gladly sink deeply into, over and over again.

Looking back on my old posts, the last time I seem to have mentioned Worldās End Press was a whopping four plus years ago, probably right around the time I Heart Moosiq came into its young existence. We return to the Australian synth bandās energetic, intoxicating folds with dazzling new song Tall Stories. The song twirls, dashes, and spins with disco flavored pep and an agile bounce. Despite that animation, thereās a hint of darkness to the trackās deep bass and edgy rhythm. Itās like an amalgamation of Hot Chip with some LCD Soundsystem, which is a fine mix, if you ask me. Tall Stories is the title track from a new EP from Worldās End Press, due out September 25th on Liberation Music.
