There's this Bunny concept I've had for a while and it's that while Butters values and admires kindness, and thus wants to be kind and as optimistic as he can, deep down he is so so angry and constantly plotting revenge. He just goes great lengths to keep that side of him in check because he doesn't LIKE feeling that way (see "Butterballs" and "Raisins"; screenshots below) so he only allows that side of him to come out when he's playing pretend villain or when he thinks it won't have any consequences (see "Grounded Vindaloop", where he kicks his dad in the balls immediately when he thinks his virtual reality isn't real, and I DONT CARE that it was all in Stan's VR because the characters were all still in character in that episode so it's canon to me) and there's just two wolves inside him that are constantly at odds, which is very common in people with trauma.

And then there's Kenny, who is just so effortlessly and genuinely kind, who doesn't hold grudges even though he has every reason to be bitter and hate life and be a bitch to everyone around him, he just doesn't. He doesn't ever even display any urges to lash out at anyone in the show, exceptions being very few (like him yelling at Kyle about his curse in the c**n and friends trilogy or when Cartman was dragging NASCAR's image through the mud in "Poor and Stupid") but like "THE SCOOTS" BRO. HE SHOULDVE BEEN FUMING AND QUIT THE FRIEND GROUP FOREVER AFTER THEY PULLED THAT SHIT. But god, Kenny just isn't an angry person. He never gets angry on his own behalf, only on others', if ever; mostly Karen but I could see that expanding to his friends and lovers too.

Anyways what i wanted to get at is that this genuine and effortless kindness is what has Butters falling for kenny; he admires kenny for being such a genuinely good person, despite all the shit life has thrown at him because like i said, Butters VALUES this in a person. No doubt this is the reason that in "Going Native" he said that Kenny is the only person he actually respects. And on the other hand; Butters' insistence to try and try again, to look for the good things in life and be kind and happy despite it all is the reason i see KENNY falling in love with BUTTERS. Like Jesus Christ they just complete each other so well it's fucking insane
