Castiel knew when Kelly arranged for him to be Jack's guardian after her death, that he was in for an adventure. What he wasn't expecting was for Kelly's ex husband, Lucifer, to challenge him for guardianship of Jack. Despite mer-people and selkies not having the best of relationships, his research leads him to Samuel Winchester-a selkie lawyer known for being the best in solving custody disputes. As Castiel and Sam work together to build a case against Lucifer, they also find themselves orbiting in each other's company--although they must stay apart to ensure they don't give Lucifer's legal team any material to use against them.
