âWhy recolor/redesign the gay flag?â The most popular redesign, Vincian flag (here), is a recolor of the lesbian flag! Many have expressed their discomfort on that, and that the flag colors are based off of predominately viewed âmasculineâ colors. Being gay is not inherently masculine, and itâs not inherently feminine.
âWhats wrong with the Rainbow flag?â Many gay people, including myself, view the flag now more as an umbrella flag. Meaning that the flag can be used by both gay and lesbian people, and anyone else in the community who isnât straight. Many gay people have expressed wanting a unique flag that only they can use!
âDo we have to use this flag?â No! It is entirely up to you on whichever gay flag youâd like to use!
âWho can use this flag?â Anyone who identifies as gay! MLM, NBLM, GNCLM, ect! As long as you identify as gay, you can use it!
âWhat can we use this flag for?â Anything! You can use it for icons, backgrounds, edits, designs, ect! Anything you want to use it for.
âDo we have to credit if used?â Itâd be appreciated, but not necessary! As long as you have reblogged or retweeted mine or my bfâs posts about the flag, then youâre good to go! Of course, if someone asks what flag it is please link them any of our posts about it.
