“Sasuke,” She said, “You’re a missing-nin. You’re no longer a Konoha Shinobi and I have to take you in.” She hoped she didn’t sound as nervous as she felt. The kunoichi held her breath as she waited for his reaction. Several customers stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to the two former teammates in the corner.
Sasuke could feel the girl’s approach, and he smirked when she spoke. He was still facing away from her when he began. “Take me in? You don’t sound too confident in yourself, Sakura,” Sasuke growled as he took off his hood.
He turned to face the girl, his old teammate. He kept himself completely at ease, knowing that his chakra was enough to let the girl know of how strong he really was. “If you think you can do it, then you had better do it now,” he said, eyes glancing from the kunai back to Sakura. In a sense, Sasuke felt as if the girl hadn’t changed at all — he could still see her every emotion, every thought, in those big green eyes.

“I have spoken to your brother recently, but that is only by chance. They’re only sparse visits when I desire something from him or vice versa. He isn’t directly involved with any of my plans, and I wouldn’t bother to force him into anything against his own wishes.”
Sasuke felt relief rush over him, yet he kept his same old expression. He absolutely did not want Itachi to do with anything when it came to his plans anymore. He and his brother did not see eye to eye on what he wanted, and although Itachi promised he'd love his brother either way, he knew the man wouldn't just turn his back on Konoha. Sasuke was sure that Itachi would try something, it was just how he was. Always so loyal and quick to depend on peace as an option.
Shifting in his chair slightly, he wished to ask more questions, but wasn't sure how to go about doing so. He wanted to be blunt, but didn't want to spur Madara away from training him. "I don't want him involved, at all," Sasuke said. He could hear Itachi in the back of his head, ranting on about how Madara was a deceitful, despicable person. He truly didn't wish to just ignore his brother's words after everything he had learned, but in this case, he had no choice. He absolutely had to, if he wanted to take down Konoha once and for all. "I'd prefer it if you two didn't speak." Sasuke spoke in a tone that showed that this was not something he was willing to work around.

He listened carefully to the younger’s next question. The elder answered carefully, “Yes, I did mentor your brother leading up to the Uchiha massacre. He needed skills the Uchiha clan wouldn’t provide him with, so I supplied him. He needed power, and I gave him just that.”
Sasuke watched Madara pick at his muffin, listening to what the older man had to say. So he really did teach Itachi, Sasuke thought, propping his elbows up on the table as he intertwined his fingers. Admittedly he was amazed at this fact, and many questions began to develop in his head that only his brother could answer. Of course, these thoughts were useless to him at the moment so he pushed them to the back of his head. Maybe I should ask him...
His thoughts were interrupted by Madara, who beat him to the punchline.
[...] “Destroying Konoha will be no easy task. Perhaps you will be interested in having a mentor yourself?”
Sasuke mulled it over in his head. Was this really a good idea? How did he know he could trust Madara -- he did help kill the whole Uchiha clan. But then again... that's what "Tobi" claimed to do, as well. But Sasuke was confident he'd be able to get himself out of whatever hole he could dig himself into.
"I am interested," he said, eyes turning to Madara. "However, I do want to ask one thing." His eyes narrowed, knowing the subject he was entering was a serious one -- at least, on his part, anyway. "Is Itachi involved in this at all? Do you talk to Itachi?"
theuchihaking replied to your post: Dear foolish otouto, I’m here to warn you about Madara. Do not trust him. He’s mean, a liar and an old bat. He killed his own otouto to steal his eyes, and he’s trying to manipulate me by going after you. Don’t listen to him. Or else. Love, Aniki.
hahaha. hehehehehe. hohohohoho.
And you. Don't manipulate my brother.

Don't tell me what to do.

It has been so long since he’d talked so much. His days as a politician were a near memory now, as well as his younger days as a child listening to other clan leaders speak their concerns in just as long winded ways. Madara pitied Sasuke for having to hear an old man’s tale, but could not revert what was said. And now he asked the question dominating his thoughts, “Itachi wishes to save Konoha, why do you wish to destroy it?”
As Sasuke listened, he realized that Madara's story matched up pretty well with the 'other' Madara. That fact perplexed him, but he pushed it to the back of his thoughts. He listened to the elder Uchiha with interest, but his heart sank as Madara finalized his explanation. He killed them to preserve their honor. Glory, pride... it was the true way of the Uchiha. Sasuke couldn't deny that, in fact he was raised around it. He pushed his mournful feelings to the back of his mind next to other things as Madara asked his question.
"I can't turn my back on the reason my brother did what he did. His life is more precious than the village," he said, his face as serious as ever. "I'm going to make them pay for the happiness that my brother gave them. If it weren't for him, they'd all be either dead or too busy fighting the world to live as lazily and happily as they do now." He shifted in his seat, feeling too on-edge to sit still for too long.
"I can't put into words how much I hate that village. They made my brother look like a criminal, and didn't even blink an eye at the fact that they wiped out an entire clan. But still...even today, when people hear 'Uchiha', they think of Konoha. But why? Konoha rejected the Uchiha. I'm going to sever that relation." Sasuke leaned back in his seat to show that he was finished. He could talk for days about the subject...but knew that wasn't what Madara was wanting to do. Besides, they had more questions for each other anyway.
After a pause, Sasuke asked his question. "During our fight, Itachi said that you were his 'mentor'. Is this true? What did you teach him?"

“It was I who assisted your brother massacre the Uchiha clan. I agreed since the objective meshed with my own agenda at the time. The Uchiha clan died with honour, even if pride was striped from this generation’s ‘prodigy’ child.”
Sasuke frowned slightly, not sure of what to say or do when Madara answered. He was sitting with the person who assisted Itachi in killing his clan, yet he didn't feel a burning desire to kill him -- he only developed more questions. But it did confirm...he surely was Madara, in one way or the other.
He let his chin rest against the tangled fingers as he thought over his next inquiry, “How do you plan to relieve your hatred of Konoha?”
"I'm going to destroy Konoha," Sasuke said simply, leaning back in his chair -- he hadn't realized he had gotten so close to the table until just now. "I'll kill them off, bit by bit, just so they know the hatred that I feel."
The younger Uchiha's next question wasn't going to be an easy one for him to handle, but he had to know the answer. He took a deep breath and kept his voice calm. "Why was killing off your own clan on your agenda? It was only aiding Konoha into becoming stronger in their own twisted way, so why feed into that?" he asked, intertwined fingers tightening slightly.

His eye had drifted to the floor, but it slid up to gaze at Sasuke. “No.” He answered. It was good that the technique had become more, that part was extraordinary. “It would have been better to teach it to someone else. Someone who would pass it down to another.” And that was as far as he would say on the subject. As far as he was concerned, he didn’t see himself having kids. He was the last Hatake. All of his techniques would die with him.
Sasuke's expression didn't change, but he didn't know what to say in response to what Kakashi had said. It was strange, and random to say the least. "Well that isn't my problem," he said after a moment's hesitation. The rain hadn't stopped, but it had calmed down considerably. Sasuke looked out into the rain, contemplating just leaving the miserable old sensei to his thoughts. He just...really didn't know what to say. Did he not think that Sasuke was going to --
...And that's when it hit the young Uchiha. The revival of his clan...is that something he still wanted to do? He didn't let his thoughts show; he merely stared out into the rain, face devoid of emotion.

Tobirama was the closest, but he doubt the young Uchiha was speaking of him. Unless Sasuke took interest in the rising dead technique the albino had developed. He clicked his tongue, “Why did you leave Konoha?”
Sasuke's eyebrow twitched at the mention of Konoha, as well as his brother. With a brief hesitation, and a movement of his jaw, he answered the elder Uchiha's question. "I needed power that they couldn't give me," he said, his fists tightening. "And just when I thought I'd be able to face those weaklings again, I hear that they are the very reason I sought after power in the first place," Sasuke said, trying his best to hold in the anger he felt against the village.
"They killed my family. It wasn't Itachi, nor was it anyone who helped him. They did it, and now they're going to feel the same pain that I do." He took a deep breath, his eyes unwavering as they stared back at Madara. He wanted to let the man know that he really meant what he said. "So if you don't know Tobi, then you aren't Tobi. Then, answer this -- was it you who helped my brother with the slaughter of the clan?"

“Hai. You’ll face Naruto soon enough.” Kakashi replied. He didn’t want the two to face off but it was inevitable. They were his former students and he had formed some sort of bond with them. He was silent for a moment, merely ignoring Sasuke’s hatred for the village. “I should never have taught you chidori.” he said softly.
Sasuke stared at Kakashi, wondering why he would say something so random. "Why? Because I've turned it into something more?" he asked with a head tilt. "I would've found something either way, Kakashi. No need to regret it now."

“You can’t expect me to answer your questions if you ignore mine.” He leveled his stare to Sasuke’s. Despite his growing annoyance with the other, he managed to keep a relaxed tone. It was probably a combination of the Uchiha’s tiredness and enjoyable tea, “What is your name?”
Sasuke stared at the man, slightly irritated at how calm he was. "...Sasuke," he said, leaning back in his chair. There was a brief moment of silence between them as Madara inspected his muffin further, causing Sasuke to raise a brow at him. To be honest, he wasn't sure on how to approach the situation. This was Madara Uchiha, a man who is supposed to be dead, a man who is supposed to be wearing an orange mask. Here he was, in a bed and breakfast at the Mist village. He wasn't who Sasuke thought he was, but that probably wasn't his fault -- it really pissed Sasuke off that someone was trying to deceive him.
"I have a lot of questions for you," he said, his hands feeling restless. He intertwined his fingers and rested them on his lap. "But I would like to know the answer to the first one before I can ask more." Sasuke decided he'd just go along with the situation as it unfolded, and to be as direct as possible.

He had no reason to keep eye on the other Uchiha any longer. Madara’s eyes have already absorbed whatever information he wanted. He laid his raisin picking arm across the table offering the seat across from him. The elder had a feeling that this meeting wouldn’t be a quick one. He suggested to the other, “Sit.” It would put them on the same level, and maybe make the other less stiff.
Sasuke's eyes didn't stray from the man in front of him as he offered a chair. "Not until you answer me first," Sasuke demanded.
He confirmed the other’s suspicions, unsure what memories were tied to that name, ”Yes.” He took a sip of his tea before admitting his forgetfulness, “You are Itachi’s brother, yet your name escapes me.”
The younger Uchiha's face was devoid of emotion as he got closer to Madara, and sat down in the chair offered to him. "So you do know Itachi," he murmured, feeling extremely uncomfortable despite sitting in the comfortable chair. He had so many questions, as he was feeling more and more confused about the matter. The last time he had seen the one named "Tobi", who also called himself Madara, was a long time ago...
"Do you know anyone by the name of 'Tobi'?" he asked Madara.
