the fact that brina doesn’t trust heaven due to corruption is power move of her

CARRIE (1976) dir. Brian De Palma
sabrina has the capability of draining the life force from people. that isn’t even from her infernal abilities, that stems from her angelical abilities. as the gods give life, they can also take.
brina’s friends and family able to summon her if need be but only in case of an emergency because it’s not an easy process. the summoning requires blood and a deep carving of the circle and star portions of the sigil of baphomet into the palm of their hand. it’s painful, especially to her mortal friends; she’ll always heal them afterwards of course. they say her name in the process, whisper what’s happening and she can choose to come or ignore.
it’s the way brina refuses to allow demonic possession to occur without her knowledge. she refuses to allow her demons to act out without her command just because they have the desire to cause torment on the mortal realm. she’s aware of the dangers and lethality of possessions, the entire supernatural world is. she’s not necessarily opposed to its nature as she knows it’s a portion of demonic lifestyle. the difference is that she no longer allows it to just occur out of whim of desire. they do it to sinners whose downfall and fate is already coming to hell to face the flames. who are the true evils of life. that’s the line of where she established with the demons so they feel their fulfillment with possessions.
sabrina is a powerful being. i’ll never change that. she’s an immortal being incapable of dying with an infinite amount of power that can bring destruction to the world and reign hellfire at the snap of a finger, on sheer will. the difference is that she won’t. that morality is what keeps her composed and ground. it’s what keeps her in check from doing things that, in the long run, she’ll regret that’ll cause her to be unbelievably lonely. her fathers and aunts made such horrible decisions when it came to the treatment of her mother, making the deal with the goode’s and realistically various other deals with people and she doesn’t want to turn out like that. that’s the difference.
sabrina, although tainted by her mortal blood, is no less a god - like being than her father and grandfather. she can and will demolish the world with hell fire just by sheer will. she is a god damn force of nature, unnatural to existence. the unholy trinity. her power is hers and hers alone. infernal, celestial and mortal conflict in constant battle of how to reign over her court, how to approach the human realm, balancing civility with heaven. sabrina could bring destruction, she craves that ever day. she reminds herself that’s only a portion of her existence. she is a god, daughter of satan, prophesied to be evil. yet, she’s also part angel, human. she holds onto that. a reminder that she can remain half good even in the midst of the evil desires she wishes to fold into.
zelda and hilda despised diana and had no moral compass till sabrina came into the picture. diana was viewed as a pawn for production in order to continue the spellman name ( which ended up backfiring as lucifer ended up being her biological father ), and was meant to be discarded afterwards. edward ended up keeping her as his pet, temporarily to help raise sabrina but when diana discovered what their true intentions were as well as hand in the goode’s family deal, she had to be dealt with. while running through the forest, camp nightwing killer was on the loose. the killer was meant to kill diana but she had managed to escape with baby sabrina in arm due to the fact sabrina is enchanted to not be touched by the killers … but diana didn’t realize it was all just meant to slow her down long enough for the spellman’s to catch up . once they did, they used magic and revelation of their true physicality to cause her to lose her mind. she was placed in an insane asylum in shadyside while the spellman’s reside in greendale in order to keep some distance.
edward was consumed with the tasks of being the high priest of church of night which left zelda and hilda to tend to sabrina. they practically raised her as edward was essentially nonexistent during her infancy and died when she was a toddler. they took responsibility of her in all ways possible. they had the highest expectations of her, especially zelda, but developed a maternal and endearing love for their niece. watching her grow made them feel guilty as to what they did to diana; they lied to sabrina saying she died during the nightwing killer massacre knowing that she’s just a few towns over.
sabrina viewed her aunts with the utmost importance in her eyes. yes, they had their faults and their demand and expectations could be overbearing but she adored them heavily. even her father, she never viewed him wrong … because of the picture her aunts painted. when she discovered the truth behind their roles behind the massacres, her mothers health? it was revealed by lucifer as she transitioned into queen. it was just a betrayal that was unforgiving and damn well killed her.
unlike other witches who slowly age as time passes, sabrina’s physicality is frozen in time due to being infernal. when it comes to her immortality, it occurs after her resurrection of being an eldritch terror. she is at godhood status, invincible. mere mortal weapons will not kill her as well as her body will always just be reforged if anything occurs as it reforms in the flames.
brina’s iris will shift from red to gold when performing any forms of magic. spell casting, creating potions, etc. anything that has any ties it’ll always change as it’s drawing from both the realms of heaven and hell. it’s genuinely one of the beautiful and awing things because once your look into her eyes, you’re so starstruck it’s hard to look away.
