I made this necklace using driftwood and black screws, inspired by their interesting shapes and textures and their simple colours. It's part of my "Screwed up" collection. The "Screwed up" collection was inspired by the research I've done on human experiences and feelings and how some events can "screw" us up. I turned this into a quite literal way of putting it, by using the beautiful, naturally sanded driftwood as a symbol of us, humans, being shaped as we go through life, and the black screws, as a metaphor of the stuff that hurts us deeply sometimes.
