Would it be possible for you guys to do a Vlogbrothers or Crash Course video about how easy or difficult it would be for Trump to repeal all the progress we've made in the past 8 years? Like gay marriage, Roe v Wade, ACA, DADT, etc? And how easy it'd be for him to enact new terrible things like that stupid wall or conversion therapy for gays? And how likely it would be for him to start wars by saying stupid things? I think it would ease a lot of anxieties for people that voted for Hillary.
I would like very much to make this video. Short answerā¦itās hard to do all of these things. Gay marriage is almost definitely permanent, Trump doesnāt seem to be interested in overturning it. Roe v Wade probably wonāt be overturned, but a bunch of supreme court rulings around regulations on abortion clinics (which have been an effective way for conservative state governments to decrease the number of people with access to abortions) have a much higher chance of remaining in place. Healthcare Triage did an episode on potential changes to the ACA. Turns out, itās very complicated.
The Wall is going to be metaphoricalā¦it was always a fake idea, conversion therapy has not been discussed at all, but it was something that Mike Pence supported in Indiana. Deporting 2 million undocumented immigrants is pretty much impossible without creating a new federal agency, so I doubt that will happen. And if they actually try to create a Muslim Registry, I am going to ask you all to join me in some serious civl disobedience, I hope thatās OK.
Will we get ourselves into stupid wars? I donāt know. I would sayĀ ānoā but I lived through GWBās presidency soā¦
