her life was a mess, more so than she had planned. maybe it was selfishness, maybe she was bored but against her better judgement she had invited the florist downstairs to have a glass of wine with her after he closed up the shop. it was supposed to be a gesture of good will, seeing that most of the time they shared was passing ( flirty ) glances, small conversations every time she picked up her flowers each week. she knew better. there werent many rules she had given herself over the span of her occupation, but one of the most important was: no sleeping with people to close to her cover. as far as anyone was concerned, she was an artist who lived in the loft above the flower shop. she was better off finding someone in a different town, far enough out of her life to escape the scrutiny.
but then he looked at her like that and with the wine flushing her cheeks, she made her next bad decision. the blonde captured his lips with her own, her inhibitions left behind as she licked into his mouth, tasting the wine on his tongue. she leaned into him more, shifting on the couch to get a better angle, her fingers without the wine glass running over the stubble along his jaw. the wine told her to climb into his lap, pull his hair, see what he looked like when he moaned— she pulled back suddenly, her eyes closed tightly as she inwardly kicked herself. “ im sorry, i shouldnt have done that. ”
