Some Food for Thought for Soren & Claudia stans

Now Viren does a REAL REAL REAL subtle version of this but Understanding Golden Child/Scapegoat dynamics explains a LOT about Claudia’s behavior in S3 and why Soren was the first to turn.  - Viren praises Claudia and confides in her - Viren treats Soren like he’s an idiot and browbeats him for his goofiness, comparing him to a more “ideal” son - Viren pits Claudia and Soren against each other and encourages Claudia to doubt her brother’s intelligence/perceptions, including her in the gaslighting -Soren feels like he’ll never measure up and only wants to make dad proud, which he feels is unattainable - Viren encourages Claudia to be like him, praises her when she is, and shames her when she isn’t.  - Viren encourages Claudia to insult/shame his enemies, including her brother, when it suits him. Claudia is the golden child, y’all, and is just as much a victim of Viren’s emotional manipulation and abuse as Soren is. It’s gonna take her longer to realize what’s up because Viren deliberately set it up that way.  So… maybe stop calling her a bad person and calling her writing this season bad? Because it is CLASSIC narcissistic parental abuse and y’all are making me REAL uncomfortable. 

Also maybe can fan communities as a whole stop demoninzing the symptoms of trauma and mental illness that aren’t “cute” or woobie? Sometimes mental illness and trauma cause some real destructive responses and you hurt people and BOY it makes me uncomfy when you folks demonize a character for that.

Just so some of y’all know, this is not the actors or Marvel or Sony promoting the movie. This is them being the nicest people ever. They’ve talked about this. Tom started this habit of visiting every children’s hospital in the cities they film at ever since Homecoming. He would ask permission to borrow the suit and go on his own. No one was filming. Then Zendaya started going with him cuz she thought it was an awesome idea and then cameramen started also going. No one asked them to go. Jake Gyllenhaal then said recently that when he heard about this tradition, he had the need to do it too cuz it was the most amazing thing he’d heard of. Most of these visits weren’t even recorded. They’re just nice people wanting to make children happy and it’s so pure. There was even a clip of Tom crying afterward but I’m glad it was cut off cuz I did feel like they were invading his privacy there. And honestly, even if more actors from different franchises started doing this for publicity I wouldn’t care cuz they’re still making these children happy and fulfilling their dreams.
