Okay so-

In this au Sonic ran away from Christmas Island as kid

When Sonic was a kid he lived with his uncle Chuck, who taught him everything he knew about plane mechanics and inventing in general, on Christmas Island.

Sonic was a really hyperactive kid when he was younger, never staying still, always running everywhere at top speed. He’d always felt restricted on the island, he was stuck on a tiny island in a big world he’d never even, he was starving for adventure and the freedom to find just that.

He actually first debuted his speed at the annual racing competition Christmas Island held and won by a landslide. But lot of the people on the island didn’t like it, seeing him as being a show off, a freak of nature or just nuisance in general.

The kids were no better, taunting him everyday to the point where Sonic slowly became self-conscious of the power he was born with. He slowly started running slower and slower until he just… stopped, period.

He started helping his uncle with his prized plane and inventions, even making a few small inventions of his own.

When Sonic was being bullied Chuck didn’t realise it was that bad cuz he was always busy with some project. He just thought it was just a few brat kids and just told his nephew not to let them get to him.

This did not help. At all.

This continued bullying continued until Sonic finally reached a breaking point and ran away, stealing his uncle’s plane in the process and flying away.

He starts a small plane business, meets Tails and the rest is history.

I do have plans for Chuck and Sonic to reunite tho.

Oz au- when he was younger, Sonic hated the thick leather gloves and and heavy water proof shoes and big sun hat Chuck had him wear everytime he went out more than anything.

It was needed for his protection just in case he got splashed with water or it started raining so he wouldn’t get burned, Sonic knows that but it doesn’t stop him from hating it

His Uncle Chuck always wanted sonic to be careful but sonic didn’t wanna be careful! which was why he often came back home after a day of adventure with all his safety gear conveniently lost in the woods

I will never get over how even when everybody knows that "Sonic the Hedgehog doesn't have a home" EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND HIM

They all know where to look for him, at his lil bro's house of course, closest thing he has to a home he can call his own. Dude might not have a house but he sure does have an address (whether he is aware of it or not). Hell, they literally send his mail there.
