“Wouldn’t it amazing if humans were able to have a superpower though?” He chuckles quietly and focuses his attention back onto the stingrays, “Well, if you were to have one, would it still be mind reading?” He smiles slightly as another stingray swims over and the previous one, the one he fed, swims away. He shakes his head, “No, I don’t think so. I should be fine, if it’s customer related. If not then maybe we can talk a bit more to become a bit better friends?”

        “Ha –– yea, it would.” she laughed, maybe too loudly. Was that too weird? Does he know? No way... She was glad when he changed the subject. “Sure! Tell me more about you, Eric!”

“oh damn” he sighs as he looks in his book bag for a pen. He suddenly had an idea to draw up and he needed to get it down before he forgot. Kikwang looks around, looking for anyone who might have a pen. As some one passed by he tapped them on the shoulder. “Sorry to be a bother, but do you have a pen?”

          Sayo whirled around, eyes widened slightly at feeling someone’s hand come into contact with her shoulder. “A pen? Hold on a sec ––” she trailed off, swinging her backpack off of one shoulder and around to rest on her chest, rummaging around in the smaller front pocket for a moment before emerging with a black pen. “How’s this?” she asked, holding it up for the other to see. “Will this work? Sorry, it’s all I have with me.”

“ what are you talking about? this food is great! and after we’ll go ride the carousel. promise. ”

“You promise?” Sayo narrowed her eyes, taking another bite of her hot dog. “You said that an hour ago.” She wasn’t really mad, but the carousel was her favorite ride.

“Yeah.. not.. that bad.” He whispers quietly and watches the stingray’s reaction, smiling slightly as he taps the glass gently before putting his attention to Sayo. He laughs as she pulls out sour gummy worms and hands it to him, “I was going to say that I wasn’t a kid, I guess you read my mind.” He smiles at her while putting the packet of gummy worms in his pocket, “Well, they won’t hurt me whatsoever, so I guess it’s okay.”

               “Won’t hurt at all, nope. And yes, I did read your mind.” she chuckled softly, turning back for a moment to close up the cabinet that held the aquarium’s sour treasures.  She was mostly kidding about the mind-reading. Mostly. It wasn’t as if she had actually read his mind in the way that most people imagine, but intuition was one of her fortes. “So, now that you’ve gotten the full stingray-feeding experience, can I help you with anything else?” she asked in her best customer service voice, turning back to face him.

He greets the stranger with a bow, and a smile, "Hey, I'm Hyunjae, pleasure to meet you! And what do people call you?"

         “Hey!” Sayo grinned, extending a hand towards the other. “My name is Sayo. That’s what most people call me.” she chuckled, pushing a piece of hair behind her ear with her free hand.

“You should let me take care of that for you.”

         “What –– oh, this?” She looked down at the scrapes on her knees, blood already pooling at the surface of her skin. It stung. A lot. “Nah, don’t worry. I’ll be –– I’ll be fine.” She winced at the intensifying burn in her knees. How could she have been so clumsy?

He looked at the worms and he steps back a bit. He had used to play with worms when he was younger, but as he got older he found them.. a bit disgusting. Swallowing hard, he shakes his head, “I–” He watches her smile turning into a smirk before sighing in defeat, “I guess so..” He makes a face as he touches the worm and walks over to the tank to feed the ray. Biting his bottom lip, he drops the worm into the tank.

        “See, not so bad after all, huh? And you made ‘em happy too.” She grins tilting her head to the side, watching as one of the stingrays pressed it’s underbelly up against the tank wall. “Since you were so brave ––” she stops, walking over to a small cabinet of to the side of the room, opening the top compartment with a brass key and pulling out a bad of sour gummy worms before holding out a small packet of them towards the other. “This is what we give kids if they’re brave enough to feed the rays. I know you’re not a kid, but you deserve your reward, fair and square.”

“It’s nice to meet you as well.” He watches her extending her hand before placing them back by her side, “Maybe you should dry your hand?” He shakes his head, “I wouldn’t want to hurt the rays if I were to feed them.”

         “Naaaaah, you won’t,” she shakes her head, grabbing a handful of small worms from the bucket and extending her arm towards him again. “People do it all the time. It’s part of how we educate the public on all the creatures we have here –– unless you’re scared.” The corners of her mouth curve upward into a slight smirk, eyes narrowing playfully at the other. “Come on. Give it a try.”
