      it’s selfish of her to keep it all bottled up inside. she doesn’t realize that her hurting is affecting her son just as much. dean has had it with all the silence, with all the lies. he knows  that things aren’t fine, and the constant reassurance has begun to vex him.  his issue is not only with her  –  it’s with sam, too. he’s trying to help both of them, but they keep shutting  him out.  not anymore.    ‘    –  and i need you to talk to me!  ’    dean snaps.    ‘  you’re hurting, and what you’re doing, the way you’re dealing …    –     it’s hurting me, too.  ’     he exhales heavily. 

     Mary is Dean’s mother. When Dean looses someone important what does he do? Unfortunately she doesn’t get to scream or throw a lamp across the room. She has to deal with it like a mature adult because that’s what she is, right? He’s hurting. That’s fair. So is she.

And there are some things children are just not supposed to learn from their parents. 

    “What do you want to talk about Dean? He’s gone. John is gone and I have nothing to hold onto.” That might not sound fair but Mary’s relationship with her boys is actually- not enmeshed. Not like how she is with John. “How do you cope when Sam’s died in the past? Do you want to sit around and talk about it or do you want to do everything in your power to bring him back? I can’t bring Johnny back, Dean. I can’t bring him back and it’s like- it’s like.....” but he’d know. He’d have to.
